1. A child of an immigrant born in this country is not an immigrant…

2. 1 in 5 is STILL a vast minority

On top of that it was just a horrendous attempt at logic.

He made an assertion for what percentage of the black US population is foreign born... And just forgot to pull in data to show how they're skewing the marriage statistics lol

Fiscally? Nope!

Culturally? Nobody in America Is as conservative as they think they are. But within the paradigm of this country, most black people still might lean conservative, but that's changing quite rapidly. Esp. Outside the Bible belt.
And a lot of conservatism in America (esp. After the 60s) overlaps with upholding :mjpls: ideas, so even that's up for debate.

So overall, no. It's just a revisionist talking point used mainly by blexit types to attract more blacks to the right.

Black people tend to be culturally conservative, but financially progressive. It's more black people in unions than any other groups in America.

Conservative in culture does not equal to conservative in politics. There’s nothing conservative about those republican politicians
How do you define cultural conservativism?

I'm asking because Black Americans have either been the leaders or at the forefront of every culturally progressive movement in America since America became a nation. And we continue to be.

Avengers compound
No group is mostly anything.
Anybody who speaks in absolutes like that, especially the breh there, is really retarded.

It is perfectly fine to believe whatever, you want. Just don’t be a flagrant ass c00n and you will have a smooth sailing. Otherwise your ass will be put in line accordingly.

I don't know, I think that (socially/culturally conservative perspective) is changing with the newer and upcoming generation of Black men and women.

Not as many young (18-29-year-old) Black people are as religious and the ones who are is more open to accepting people and their differences, whatever that may be compared to the older generation such as our elders and grandparents born in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.

Black people born in the middle and end of the 90s, 00s, 10s, and so on will and/or already have a different perception of religion and what they believe is considered acceptable to “God”, we're not like the older gen who lived and swore by the Bible and everything in it as being the way of life that one should live by.

I said this before but White conservatism and Black conservatism in America are 2 different entities.

That's why even old school minded Black elders steer away from the GOP for the most part.

Your average Black deacon at an AME church has some old school values but he generally won't cosign a lot of shyt that White Republicans support.

Black ppl are culturally conservative, but not in that way politically.

For example, black ppl aren't as accepting of the things most liberal ppl are....but we vote for that party bc the past decades that party has shown at least some type diversity and inclusion.

But I don't think most Christian black ppl are in favor of trans stuff, gay stuff, etc.

Just have no option to vote anywhere else

Given all that, repubs are actually pretty stupid. They could win every time, but they let their racism drag them down

republicans can't govern tho beyond scheming for power with unethical practices.

Well said.

GenZ black people for certain aren't conservative whatsoever. They generally embrace the lgbt which is the cornerstone of black conservatism. Similarly they're indifferent to family values such as being married and avoiding premarital sex. Most of them also have socialist tendencies and they welcome radical solutions to pressing social problems like climate change.

Millennials have similar traits but less conservative than gen z.

What is conservatism?

Is it being anti big government whilst cutting blank checks for the military?

Is it being anti union while saying nothing about the influence police unions have?

Is it being pro small business and doing nothing about monopolies?

Is it pro religion while allowing money lending with interest(something Islam and Christianity explicitly forbid)

Is it being anti pedophile but not teaching kids about sex so they know when they're being raped and groomed by adults with power?

Is it being anti-authoritarian whilst accepting a workplace that is run as a dictatorship and continuing to vote for political candidates who ran their businesses as dictatorships?

Is it conservatism to allow corporations to destroy forests and green spaces that were there before? What has been conserved?

Is it conservatism when blocks of family housing are rezone and turned into apartment complexes where a studio apartment STARTS at 500k? What was conserved?

What is being conserved when programs for old people and children are cut?

Is it conservatism to force women to have children whilst refusing to streamline the adoption process or provide subsidized child care?

What is being conserved when an anti-lynching bill is voted against?
