1. A child of an immigrant born in this country is not an immigrant…

2. 1 in 5 is STILL a vast minority

3.

wtf is wrong with your slow ass :mjlol:please stop posting …this shyt is embarrassing

A child of an immigrant born in this country is an immigrant, that is why they are called 2nd generation immigrants. The child of an 2nd generation immigrant is called a 3rd generation immigrant.

I was waiting for somebody to jump on the marriage part I posted, I expecting someone else, I never see you before, but you are correct Black Immigrants are more conservative than Black Americans when it comes to marriage. Black Americans do not have a culture of forcing women into marriage, forced female circumcision, Black American Women have more freedom.

Most black people are religious so they are culturally conservative

Religious doesn't = conservative.

You can follow pagan religions and not be anywhere near conservative.

People are not educated on the truth. That's what's wrong today. It's on purpose. The schools systems are built to make people workers and slaves. Not to have you think freely. You can't read the government sponsored books and not come out indoctrinated.

Gateway weasel wording. "We are traditionally conservative and it has nothing to do with politics."

*Criticizes only anything considered leftist and rails against LGBTQ issues nonstop*

"Yea, I had no choice but to vote conservative. David Duke and I are closer in ideals than Obama is. He ain't do shyt for blacks and made LGBTQ people American mascots!"

So we love cops, obey the 1%, think racism is non existent or overstated, are anti-reparations or government assistance, etc etc?

Thread done.
If y'all wanna be bootlicking stooges for your bosses and white racism than vote Republican and get it over with but stop pretending to be some higer-than-thou free thinker fighting for black empowerment, and stop pretending your shallow white-adjacent politics is carrying on some radical traditions of blackness. You don't care about black power, you're just some bigot who hates other marginalized people as much as white racists do and you wish to be the model minority in a racist society. Black peole are LIBERAL and we have always been the most left leaning liberal community in the world.

@Amerikan Melanin is talking about Black Americans are culturally conservative, not politically conservative, meaning traditional values. For example, Marriage, Family get togethers ie Family Reunions, Educational, Religious and etc.

Black Americans started family reunions, after slavery ended, we would search for our family members sold off and would have get annual get togethers:

Thank you. I was clearly talking culture. Foundational Black Americans have always been this way. We accept everyone but keep your private biz private. Nobody needs to know you had 37 abortions.

I knew what you ment and other FBA's knew what you ment, the other nikkas in here see the word conservative and their vaginas start to bleed.

Angela Lewis, Ph.D., who is an associate professor University of Alabama at Birmingham did a study on Black Americans being conservative and on how Black Americans being conservative is based on lifestyles, not political.

Many black people are conservative, but not the way most think by Jim Bakken

When it comes to being conservative, black people have been mislabeled, according to a new book by a University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) professor.

There is this overarching belief that African Americans are extremely liberal and support liberal ideas like unlimited welfare assistance and an open lifestyle,” said Angela Lewis, Ph.D., associate professor of government. “This characterization of black people is incorrect.” Lewis recently penned “Conservatism in the Black Community” as part of the Routledge Series on Identity Politics.

The book looks at how conservatism among black people — from slavery up to today — is different from that of whites. In the book, Lewis categorizes conservatism in the black community into four groups, and supports each with longitudinal data. “When you think of black conservative pundits who are always on TV and conservative everyday black people, they are not the same,” Lewis said. More than one-third of the black population identifies themselves as conservative, she said. Of that group, however, more than 90 percent support the Democratic Party, considered a more liberal political group.

Lewis found this interesting and set out to find out why. She conducted focus groups in Birmingham, Chicago and Atlanta. She found that when African Americans talked about conservatism, they rarely mentioned politics. Instead, they talked about their lifestyle, morals and values. And, they were able to compartmentalize their views on lifestyle in order to support a political party they feel is more compassionate toward marginalized groups and the poor.

Often, the pundits speaking for black conservatism are aligned with the Republican Party and do not support issues like affirmative action, a policy that the typical black conservative does, according to Lewis. “The media needs to have more than these pundits representing conservatism because they are not representative of black conservative thought,” she said. Lewis’ hardback book is available for $125 here and the e-book can be purchased at amazon.com.

I feel like whenever someone says that their examples start and end at anti-LGBTQ sentiments.

Yes it does. That's all it's about. It's not about actual laws or policy, just a fear of homosexuals. In fact you'll have idiots who have been so thoroughly indoctrinated by white supremacist propaganda they believe simply wanting a wife and kids and a house makes you a "conservative." It's like these simple minded conservatives can't even imagine a world where you can support the rights and freedoms of others, and a free society as a whole, even if you don't belong to the people you're fighting for. They have the maturity of children and don't usually see the big picture of government, laws, and society, which leads them to these shallow takes on black voters based on just one issue.

Being a heterosexual male doesn't make you a conservative. Being religious does not make you conservative. In fact if you were TRULY a Christian and you truly believed in Jesus word you'd be closer to a straight up Communist revolutionary than some white American conservative. Y'all believe you're so privy to political propaganda and manipulation yet y'all have been fully indoctrinated into southern strategy rhetoric Republicans been using since the Nixon years. Black people don't support legal or social systems that are based on inhereted social hierarchies, or economic agendas based on preserving existing weatlh among the rich at the expense of middle class income and quality of life.

The sad part is that 99% of the people you see around here talking about how conservative black people are consider reparations, and direct cash payment government policies exclusively for particular minoritiers to be the only golden standard of a political party "gaining black peoples votes." This is completely anti-conservative. I've even seen some fools say this shyt while calling themselves damn Libertarians. The cowardice is amazing.

Half these barbershop babbling dudes that hate "lgbt agendas" so much and think they are "conservatives" go home and whack right off to lesbian videos on their phone and dreaming of their 2-girl threeway fantasy someday. Activities that can only be facilitated by an acceptance of homosexual existence and behavior. I guess it's okay when it benefits you. Insecure hypocrites who ain't about none of that bootlicking conservative shyt they think they about. Black people are LIBERAL.

This article states one third of black people identify as conservative (with 90% of them still supporting the democratic party). One third clearly is not the majority of black people.
