@Supreme365

I'll admit. That's harsh. But I literally deal with it day in and day out.

We have a guy who's a paraplegic. He'll call 911 and say

"I smell smoke..."
"Do you know where it's coming from? Were you cooking or anything, any flames?"
"God damn it I smell smoke, just get here."

And he hangs up.

There are notes for this guys address, paraplegic, lockbox code, alarm code etc...

It's 3 in the morning everybody goes, police, fire and ambulance. We get there...no fire, no smoke. It conveniently went away but while we're there he wants us to bring the mail in, or grab the remote from the other side of the room or change the thermostat.

This is something that happens at least 20-30 times a month, sometimes during the day, often at night.

He's never fallen, had a fire, seen a fire, had a break in, or any of the shyt we go out for, but we always treat it like an emergency. At this point I'd be fine if he just called and said "hey can you come bring me my mail, or pick up the remote that fell under the couch, I can't reach it."

We'd fukking go anyway because in America in 2019 you cannot dare say no to anyone for any reason.

Nurses or any employees aren't sitting down playing solitaire, they are playing card games with other employees. Assuming they have the staffing.

That and most jobs like nursing don't allow you to have your phone out because of confidentiality. From my experience working before and after they always said it but never really cared after Joan Rivers died it was pretty much overnight where i was working that phones had to be locked in our lockers or in our cars.

He ain't lyin. A lot of it has gone down hill.

When I was in the hospital, my friends were snapping on nurses for doing shyt they were supposed to be doing.

When my mom went into the hospital, I was walking around hunting down nurses because her meds and other shyt weren't re-upped. Machine beeping and shyt, they sitting around talking about bullshyt.

I know a family that nearly got dragged out in cuffs after getting in the staffs asses, they ended up switching hospitals and then got the proper treatment.

And you have shyt like this

"Florida nursing home deaths during Hurricane Irma ruled homicides. Authorities in Florida have declared the deaths of 12 of 14 nursing home patients who died after Hurricane Irma as homicides. Patients living at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills were evacuated on Sept. 13 as Hurricane Irma hit the area.Nov 22, 2017"

Damn breh has a right to his own opinion.
Of course he does...as do the people in the general public. As someone who's job is directly tied to how he is viewed by the general public, he should've thought long and hard before voicing his opinion so publicly. Rule of thumb for public figures like this is to keep your political opinions to yourself. Democrats need weather updates too :yeshrug:

With that said, the station probably overreacted; this would've blown over. Still ain't crying no rivers for this dude.

Man, That’s easy to say when you’re not on the business end of dealing with difficult rude ass people.

:scusthov:

But I am, I’m a paramedic/firefighter and I’ve worked in every unit of a Hospital
Trust me I know how much of an a$$hole some of these people can be, but still I signed up for this profession.

I'm a respiratory therapist and work 7P-7A and a lot of nurses have to deal with a lot of BS. Some of the day shift nurses who work 7a-7p usually don't leave until after 8p because they have to finish charting because they are so overworked. I have seen A LOT of lazy nurses who sit on their phones on Instagram, Facebook, etc while patient's are needing help but it's not the majority. I honestly don't see what the fuss is about that dude's tweet. I don't think he should have been fired.

To act like there arent too many shytty nurses out here is fukking stupid. And I know exactly what this warlock looking cac talking about. The experiences are obviously anecdotal but that doesnt make it false depending on who you ask. Theres shyt people in every profession. Nurses are no exception, unfortunately, peoples lives can be at stake.

Was there some racist undertone to what he said? How can you get fired for THAT? Dude didn't even use any curse words.

Could be something in his contract about the consequences of stirring up public controversy.
