This is what i'm saying, dude didn't say anything offensive. He was just being critical. Next they'll be firing people for leaving bad yelp review.

Yeah his firing it straight bull shyt

Of course he does...as do the people in the general public. As someone who's job is directly tied to how he is viewed by the general public, he should've thought long and hard before voicing his opinion so publicly. Rule of thumb for public figures like this is to keep your political opinions to yourself. Democrats need weather updates too :yeshrug:

With that said, the station probably overreacted; this would've blown over. Still ain't crying no rivers for this dude.

I work for a local tv station and it’s pretty much the standard rule for reporters to not weigh in on issues on social media. I’ve seen reporters suspended or fired for saying way less. So for most people what the dude said isn’t a big deal but he had to have known he would’ve gotten flack for that being a public figure.

But I am, I’m a paramedic/firefighter and I’ve worked in every unit of a Hospital
Trust me I know how much of an a$$hole some of these people can be, but still I signed up for this profession.

Real talk 90% of the time my problem is hardly ever with the patient, it’s the almost always the family members of the patient trying to compensate for not being there beforehand...

I remember having to draw blood and an arterial blood gas one a 100+ year old patient that was a hard stick, but like 20 other mfs in the room trying to tell you how to do your damn job.

Both my parents were nurses. My dad was a psychiatric nurse at Hopkins so he dealt with a lot of mentally disabled people. My mom was a pain clinic nurse at Hopkins. I have a lot of respect for them. They oftentimes work harder than Doctors. But like any profession there are enough lazy/bad nurses that people end up dealing with that leaves a bad impression.

His opinion wasn't even offensive. People can't have opinions anymore?

I was irritated but I had to be nice about it. "Sir, I need space.":troll: I get why, but this a simple G-Tube flush and I know wtf I'm doing.

He should sue. There are some good nurses but many of them are bad. Too many hospitals are filled with people who should not be working there. Nursing seems to be the go to field for those who don't know what they want to do in life. I used to witness many gossip and play around and make their assistants do all the work.

I totally agree

The last thing I need is somebody who doesn’t know what the hell is going on trying to tell me how to do my job

Here you take the ET tube and intubate your mother:martin:

The ignorance of bystanders sometimes gets under my skin but I still maintain professionalisms

I try to treat people the way I would want my mother, girlfriend, sister or any loved ones to be treated

Wrong on so many levels

It is wrong. If you're in the industry you know what I'm saying is true. People try to game you.

I did a medic run last week. A guy was demanding more meds. He was given his meds and according to him "they were bad, so I flushed them". Dude was already terminated from a large rehabilitation facility (the best one we have around) for stealing meds.
" how do you know they were 'bad'?"
"They tasted funny and they didn't work"
"If they tasted funny and didn't work then you would've had to have taken them and you couldn't have flushed them."
"I took some to my doctor and he told me they were bad which is why they weren't working."
"You're not supposed to take medicine in or out of this facility, how did you accomplish that?"
"Well you guys weren't doing anything so I pocketed some and took them to my doctors appointment"
"Your medicine isn't going to work if your skipping doses. You don't get to pick and choose when you want to take your medicine. You're not getting any additional medication until your next schedule dosage and a nurse will watch you take your medication from now on."
"I'm going to file a complaint and get all of you guys fired and get this place shut down!"
"We will be filing a report about your medication abuse which is a direct violation of the terms of our services and we are going to notify your family."
"fukk you a$$holes!"

Man, That’s easy to say when you’re not on the business end of dealing with difficult rude ass people.

:scusthov:
You can’t be a nurse and dislike dealing with people:dead:. And people got tubes in they arm and all slashed up of course they gonna be a little snappy.

That’s like me picking a trade and hate being on my feet all day.

All I’m saying is if you a nurse you know what you signing up for.

You ain't talking to me. You fukk around and get your oxygen tank unplugged.

I don't even go to hospitals like that. You want to be catered to take your ass home have family take care of you like that.

I be tempted to unplug people's shyt when I walk through a hospital.

Talk that you work for me bullshyt to a cop and get choked or your head busted. .
Talk that you work for me bullshyt to them fools behind the counter at McDonald's and see what that gets you.

You came to them for services, they didn't come to you.

It's always funny to me cuz you can tell the people who end up in the hospital / facility and want to be pampered.

We all know dam well when at home their family doesn't do shyt for them but then the whole family comes to the hospital all at once to act like their loved one is the Queen of England lol.

shut the fukk up. Nurses aren't there to fluff pillows you moron.

If you want someone to wait on you hand and foot, check your dumbass OUT of the hospital and find a 5 star hotel to check into idiot.

Just hope room service knows how to start IVs.

You come in my hospital with that attitude, your getting every medicine administered rectally.

100% true.

I'll never forget a patient that I had. she was a very large black woman maybe about 400 plus pounds. she responded to words and touch but couldn't do anything for herself. she had a trach. she couldn't turn herself. she couldn't feed herself .nothing. she had a gastric tube for food. she was also diabetic. the family was completely unreasonable. the last straw for them was that she still had a drop of dried blood on her finger tip from when someone did a blood sugar check.

They were rude to staff. Cussed us out. told us or the facility that they were going to sue for bad care and that she could get better care at home with family. we were like, cool. See ya.

That lady was back to our unit in less than 2 weeks with skin breakdown and other issues. she then got placed at a nursing home. people have no idea how hard it is to take care of someone.
