How much experience do you have lifting?

I don't know how to rate myself but I put up 300 lbs in my squat, deadlift with ease. I have never tested my one rep max with either...

I can leg press over 600 lbs.

My barbell row and bench press is in the 200s

I can overhead press in the ranges of 150-170. Never tested out my max.

I did a power-muscle-burn program and Escalated Density Training during my 6 month bulk. I have done stronglfits before. I have done P90X before.

I am at the strongest I have ever been and the bulkiest.

Retaining muscle and strength is big for me.

I like having a decent level of base strength... If I dont do those two things, then the last 6 months was a waste.

I bulked all the way wrong though when it came to dieting. Was eating like shyt and drinking way too much due to work and family stress.

Just want to make sure I am on the right path lifting wise with this cut.

I'm on day 4 of this cutting diet using @MMSex tips...and I am doing well so far.

Folks dont get it when they see me with a triple burger from Culvers. Lol

I do though, and its all that matters.

Myfitnespal is a lifesaver.

I've been eating my last meal before 6pm.

I will have a meal after my boxing workout tonight. Trying to get like Mayweather, lol.

It sounds like you have a pretty damn good strength base and like you said you should aim to keep it. At a basic level you want to lift as heavy as possible. Everything I read and experiment with points towards that as the way to maintain what you have. You could can do reps at 10-14 but I think the key will be making sure its the max amount of weight to within that range without pushing to failure consistently.

Got it. Thanks. I did a power set on Sunday with chest, back and arms and more of a moderate set today with legs, shoulders and traps...

I will go back to Power.

I liked bulking because I just wanted to look strong and be strong...

So low reps and heavy weights is great for me. Lol. There is nothing better in the world than pushing heavy weight...outside of good p*ssy and head.

And hitting the boxing ring.

Aesthetics and body building has never been my thing...but I am determined to get as cut as I can. I don't have the best genetics, but I work hard.

I also been doing this Couch to 5K program..but I am gonna cut that out and just focus on the lifts and boxing.

I appreciate your help.

Awww fukk.

I been using the BMR number and not the total calories number.

My maintenance is around 2500 calories and not 2000.

I been getting 1900 calories faithfully the past 4 days.

I lost. Lol.

But Myfitness has me at 2,010 calories.

Hmmm.

That still seems off at your height and weight. Those numbers are actually lower than my numbers and you are taller and heavier than me.

I used the website @MMSex posted and followed his instructions.

I get 2403 BMR Calories

I get 551 Activity Calories

And my total calories is 2954. Which would mean my cutting calories is at 2454 right?

Yeah that makes more sense, I misread something somehow.

I don't know that you need to you need to go at a 500 deficit right now. At 262 pounds and accurate calorie tracking it's going to drop pretty quick. You could leave yourself some room to drop call as you hit plateaus.

Sorry, doing 4 things at once.

Basically 500 as a number to drop to doesn't always makes sense. Percentages are usually better with 20% being as low as you really want to go. I think at your current weight you could easily lose at a good pace between 2500-2600 cals. This will leave you room to go lower as you lose weight and it becomes more difficult. I think those numbers would be better starting point to see who your body reacts.

Also once you start dropping you will need to readjust your maintenance calories accordingly. I would say every 15-20 pounds.

since you already lift, id just do what you been doing

and yeah, its all about knowing what ur eating. If you know full well what your eating and how much protein you need ur golden.

HOWEVER, get your vitamins. See the people that advocate for "healthy" food are covering this base. You NEED essential vitamins plus a good zinc source

without them youll have deficiencies depending on where ur eating(IE Mcdonalds all the time lol)
