What's the benefit of IF?

it follows a 16/8 schedule of 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours of feeding

still gotta be in caloric deficit but 8 hour window of eating means bigger meals, and personally i dont mind going without breakfast, in fact its ideal for my schedule

supposed to improve hormones, cholesterol etc

i literally do whats listed in this thread but within 16/8 window

Looking At My Window All I Really Would Skipping Is Breakfast

Wouldn't Even Be Skipping It Would Just Be Later Then Usual, I Dont Late Night Snack So I Dont See This Be An Issue

Im Wondering If I Should Jump Right Into A 16-8 Regimen Or Should I Build Up By Doing 1 24 Hour Fast Once A Week For A Month? Think It's A Waste Of A Month?

id jump right into 16/8

just make sure youre still in deficit using the 20/1 rule

imo IF is more of a mental boost than an actual tangible boost, but thats just from what ive seen

Spliff is the best resource for it outside of just looking at the Intermittent fasting diet for fat loss, muscle gain and health site

Damn breh brehs, it's powerful to see so many people interested in taking care of themselves, especially in this country. MMS came through like the patron saint of training and shyt.

I had a relapse with an old basketball back injury and went from 6'6 218 of lean muscle to 6'6 265 over a two year period. A lot of drinking and rich ass food from gourmet restaurants mixed in too (my close friends included a chef at one of San Fran's top restaurants and a bartender at another expensive ass spot - mad free meals and alcohol killed me).

Over the past two and a half months I'm down to 240, trying to get back down to 218 in the next 3 months but cardio is out of the equation because it fukks with my hips. I used to do 35 minutes of HIIT 4 days a week, now I have to settle for briskly walking 3-4 miles in the morning 4-5 days a week. Been hitting the weights again, getting lean quickly, feeling good.

First time I came into the gym forum on the new site, shyt got me hyped that so many people are dedicating themselves to the discipline and effort it takes to be healthful. Makes me want to keep it that much triller.

Stupid question, but are things with no protein still ok to have? Like I have some canned pineapple and per serving its 70 cals and 0 protein. I'm not sure what to do when that happens.

i still eat things like that. just as long as you get your protein in and have left over calories go ahead.

Yo, my back is no joke, I lost my basketball career to that shyt, got undercut in mid-air while dunking. I guess my hips were compensating too much for my back while I was doing high intensity interval training, so my physical therapist told me no more elliptical or treadmill. Jogging was already out because of my back. I walk 4-5 miles every morning, early, then do weights every other day.

I'm struggling with how low I should aim for. Never going to get rid of this mid-section :to:

I feel like if I ate a maintenance I would gain a shyt load of weight, I don't understand.
