@MMSex I posted this another thread but I wanted to get your advice. I read your first post so I know your thoughts on cardio. Thank you in advance.

What are your thoughts on low intensity cardio on the elliptical machine and the arc trainer to burn fat? I really need to drop fat around my midsection. I have a good lifting routine. I'm at my swolest and strongest. Diet has been weak and I drink alcohol a lot but your tips have me hype about disciplining myself in that way. I'm probably at 25-30 percent body fat. I want to continue my strength and muscle gains and lose fat. I'm ready to take it to the next level

I'm aslo starting some boxing classes with a friend of mine who is a former fighter. I know that will be good for fat burning as well

cardio is fine as long as you dont log them as "calories"

the reason i say early on to stay away from it is because of many peoples tendencies to "eat" their way out of caloric deficits by assuming they are burning more calories than they are because of cardio

as long as you maintain "sedentary" as stated in the guide you will stay in deficit and continue to lose weight. The protein is key though! you can burn away muscle while in deficit if you arent getting enough and/or not lifting

Hey @MMSex. I'm at 262 starting weight for this cut, 6'0. How much protein should I be aiming for? I'm lifting three times a week and doing boxing training 3 times a week. My caloric intake is 2000 calories and since Sunday I have been hitting my goals. I don't know if I am getting enough protein though. Thanks man.

The guide says 20 calories for every gram of protein. So IE 2000 cals = 100g protein minimum

I am on the right track then. Thanks.

I have read varying opinions of rep ranges and low-moderate-heavy weightlifting.

I do all main upper and lower body compound lifts with a mix of isolation.

Should I be aiming for low reps and heavy weights or another combination?

How much experience do you have lifting?
