Some chick once wrote a smiley face as a zero in it :beli:

If that's the case don't sit and eat at a place where food is served.

These coli neo-conservatives are the worst. You got people like @Queen saying that it's the responsibility of the business owner to make sure they pay employees a proper wage like employers have integrity :mjlol:

I could say if you can't live off of 2.50 an hour then get a better job.

Do you all read from the same bitter waiters handbook? We've heard it all before. That's not going to make people who don't want to tip actually tip. And it really doesn't apply to me because I've already said that I tip very well despite the fact that I disagree with it.

You want people to stop going to restaurants? Then what will waiters do when they don't even get the $2.50 an hour because everyone is eating at home or a drive through? You are advocating that people ego themselves out of a job that you say they need.

I propose that this topic be handled logically and not emotionally. And logic says that people working a full shift should not be relying on the generosity of strangers in order to make rent.

I want people who don't intend on tipping to not go to restaurants If you're cheap, or you don't have disposable income eat at home don't be petty and shyt on the waiters/waitresses calling what they do degrading because they rely on tips to survive. When you don't tip or tip poorly, it's not hurting the restaurant. It's hurting the waiters/waitresses. The restaurant already gets their money when you buy the food. Either you tip, or we abolish the tipping system and food prices increase as a result. Either way, the cost is pushed onto the customers. You're going to end up paying about the same regardless of what happens. Don't know why people get so upset over tipping when this is the reality of the situation.

They don't and they all are liars and can go to hell. Smh. If they don't make an average of $7.25 an hour after tips they get paid that on their checks. Plus they dodge taxes not claiming all their tips. They don't do shyt anyway. It's not a real job they need to get over themselves.
People kill me with that "they make $2.50 a hour" shyt :heh:

Truth and logic
I want people who don't intend on tipping to not go to restaurants If you're cheap, or you don't have disposable income eat at home don't be petty and shyt on the waiters/waitresses calling what they do degrading because they rely on tips to survive. When you don't tip or tip poorly, it's not hurting the restaurant. It's hurting the waiters/waitresses. The restaurant already gets their money when you buy the food. Tipping was not implemented as a way to uplift people. Therefore relying on tips is a degrading way to make a living. Working as a waiter in itself is not degrading. It's the tipping aspect that cheapens it.

Food prices going up doesn't matter because it is psychological. People will pay more and not notice because that is the price you asked for. Don't ask for xx and then tact on 20% more and not expect for people to object. Pay 20% more just because its customary.

Charge what needs to be charged to make sure your employees are paid fairly. Everyone wins. Your employees aren't crying over 2.50 and hour and your customers aren't complaining about paying "extra". It doesn't matter that the customer would end up paying the same amount or more. People don't want to feel like they are responsible for the salary of employees. Remove the barrier to feeling that way and everyone wins.

Why would anyone argue against waiters being paid a fair wage? Is the previous poster correct in stating that this is all a sham and waiters don't want to be paid an hourly wage because it would lead to a pay cut?
