Besides, the way shyt is going now, it's a rule that's only gonna protect a few guys who suck at free throws. Why are we trying to bail out the Drummond's and Jordan's of the world when big men are otherwise improving from the line?

There was a time when Splitter couldn't make a damn free throw to save his life. went 16/43 in the 2012 playoffs and was dealing with the hack a splitter treatment. you know what he did? worked on his ft's and now he's in the high 60% and they don't do it anymore. work on your damn ft's

If your entire coaching staff cannot figure out a way to improve one of your player's free throwing shooting, then bench his ass if he's costing you the game. Figure out an alternate way to win, much like the opposing coach is doing.

The rule could be a penalty on fouling an off the ball offensive player in the 4th quarter. It could be like a team foul situation in which you can only get 3-5 instances and then you enter a penalty where they get two shots and the ball.

i sort of agree, but at the same time it isnt that easy for a lot of big men. when you have huge hands, tons of strength, long arms, but not the same dexterity and coordination as guards, you most likely wont ever be able to shoot high percentages from the FT line. im sure they practice them, but its probably like shooting a volleyball.

im on the fence on this one. it seems like youre completely giving bad FT shooters a pass if you take this away.

because ONE coach is blatantly using it to attack a handful of guys in the league. We need a league reform for that? He wasn't the first one to do it and he won't be the last. We're really gonna ban the concept of giving you free points because you know you can't take them or have no faith in doing so? Wilt couldn't get a rule like this changed. Shaq couldn't get rule like this changed. Tim Duncan improved to where he didn't need to be hacked, but we're gonna let DeAndre Jordan be the main litmus test of our entertainment?
