Are we sure they're more talented?

At this point and time Indy has more guys I trust to create for themselves and others than OKC.

Haliburton, Siakam, Nembhard, Nesmith, TJ McConnell, Mathurin can all score and create

OKC it's truly just SGA, J Will and Caruso......everyone else are just shooters.
Yeah watching this series is making me feel Pacers got more fire power. OKC does too but need to get more out of Wallace and Dort needs to hit his open 3s like he been doing. Pacers just go 10 deep. Game 4 gonna be very interesting and telling.

He won't ever come out and admit it, but a big part of his hangup with Haliburton is that he's a pass first PG. Fact remains that 15 assists isn’t as sexy as 35 points to most fans & media. Bean is my favorite athlete of all time but everyone won't control the game through their scoring prowess. Haliburton's gift is with his IQ & court vision.

It's more difficult to discuss how he controls a game being an actual pass first point guard in a league that prioritizes PPG or triple doubles as the metrics that quantify how effective you are at dominating, so he opts to downplay him and focus on what he doesn't do. Man has had a historic clutch run that we haven't seen since the NBA's inception but he's talking about wanting to see bro call out ISO's at the top of the key in order to prove to him that he's a superstar.

:dead:
That’s exactly what it is. SAS is so corny and see through, he only dikkrides a specific type of player. If they don’t fit that mold he doesn’t care for them. I’ve peeped it over the years, he’ll get super animated for somebody he like but get quiet and meek like you said when he has to say something good about a player he doesn’t like. Oddly enough he loves Magic but doesn’t like Halliburton’s playstyle, shyt is unreal.

Man you are right. People don’t realize how hard it is to win a chip. How hard it is to win 50 games. You have to have the coaches buy in plus a good to great locker room. Very seldom can you have bad locker room and still win.

Lakers in ‘04 is a rare team with a shytty locker room that got to the finals. I think even if Karl Malone’s knee wasn’t shot, they still would have lost.

I don’t know how OKC’s locker was during their finals run. Probably wasn’t too great with KD leaving within two years.

You can tell with Carlisle’s system like you stated, Halli could lose confidence and lose his game. There’s a bunch of young bulls and Halli doesn’t seem the type to take command. KD was the same way and look where that got him.

It will be interesting to see who wins the series. OKC better pull game out. If not, they are 95% done.

the trends through 3 games of the finals. indiana efg% for the regular season was 4th at .562, through 3 games in the finals theyre at .564 despite going up against okc's no.1 regular season efg% defense at .513. the pacers were an elite shooting team in the regular season yet despite that they've managed to outshoot those percentages in every series so far. defensively the pacers have faced the no.1, no.3, no.9 and now the no.7 teams in efg for the regular season. every single one of those teams efg% in those series would be 19th or worse in the regular season. theyre shooting well vs everybody and everybody is shooting poorly vs them.

meanwhile for the thunder while they held their first 3 opponents all well below their regular season efg%, the only series they matched their own regular season efg% was in the wcf. they shot well below their regular season output in the first two series and its happening again in this series. okc efg% is .515, which in the regular season would be good enough for 28th.
