Seriously, the NEO wasn't being touted as some supreme 4K gaming console. It's what the PS4 should have been from the jump with having 1080p60 as standard for AAA and more intensive games. 1080p30 and 900p60 is still better than the competition, but still.....

it was embarrassing man.. Threads like that make this one of the WOAT tech forums on the net people arguing with me and @Ciggavelli I believe that some how the Neo would run 4k better or on par with PCs we were trying to explain to them the same thing you are explaining here

1) Neo wont run 4k without a 4k capable tv (common fukking sense)
2) at best itll run 4k at 20-30 fps if its lucky enough to even get that (we were saying it might not even be native 4k but upscaling to the resolution, which is what people are trying to argue against Scorpio here)

I dont even got time to go back and look at all the dumbass posts in that thread, but theirs dozens of them

From the numbers they put out an Xbox Scorpio is a 6 teraflop card. That's at the level of a 980 ti that can run some 4K games at 30 FPS with dips in the mid 20s. The PS4 Neo is 4.20 teraflops. It's not running 4K games at any performance level that people would want. It would be a slide show. That's not saying Sony can't raise the specs but it's saying with the last known specs if you getting a Neo it's likely to do locked 60 fps with 1080p games.

Don't doubt you one bit. But it's also why I think it was a BAD decision to announce this AFTER just announcing the One S. He hurt sales of the One S by bringing up the Scorpio. Worst case is cats would have bought both. Now some will wait.

Would not have done that at all. Should have said something early next year.

I agree. the only reason they announced it is because they thought ps were gonna announce neo. if they didn't announce this I would have got the xbox S for the bedroom, then the scorpion after. as it stands im not getting the S and just gonna wait for the scorpion my standard xbox one will do as I wait.

I said it before in that thread and that was that if they want 4K gaming it's possible but it wouldn't be across every game. Mostly indies and some lighter games and people love to ignore when I say that. Possibly some remasters but not no Uncharted 4 at 4K. We'll see.

I already said the Scorpio specs are way better than PS4 Neo, so idk why people are getting their panties in a bunch.
