Wearing Lions gear when it wasn't cool
Throughout this thread nobody is mentioning the cloud and how far advance it is compared to PS. I don’t see how Sony could compete.
They would have to use the network of someone else's but it would likely be ok. The issue is that the analytics are driving Sony now. Why? Because they support the company as a whole. They saw people not buy the Gravity Rushes, Killzones, Team Ico games, Hot Shots Golf, Resistance games and before those, the Jak & Daxter's and SOCOMs and Twisted Metal. Some of the greatest franchises and Sony doesn't give two shyts about them anymore. So, what is their reaction to all of that? Only games that are blockbusters so that is why that was be HouseMarque's first and last time making an AAA game because I'm sorry, Returnal isn't selling at $70. Where is this generations' Tearaways, Warhawk, Flower or Journey going to come from? The strong AA game with that price point that is appropriate for it? I know where, it's not coming because most of y'all didn't buy those games while I look at all of them on my shelves in disgust, just like y'all didn't buy the Vita which is the greatest handheld console ever created (I'm not calling the Switch a handheld because of its multi-faceted purpose.) Just like y'all didn't buy VR. Sure, Sony is making a second version but it was mostly 3rd party that carried the first version. Sony's plan is transparent. Make just AAA games and moneyhat the rest so yes, the PS5 is likely to be the God of War/Uncharted/Horizon Zero Dawn/Last of Us/Spiderman console and sprinkle in some Ghost of Tsushima and Ratchet & Clank for good measure. The risks will be far and few between.

They have homogenized their entire lineup to the same type of game in different worlds. Where is the diversity going to come from with different genres. 3rd person adventure games plus a racer in Gran Turismo.
Sure, Nintendo whores Mario's name to everything under the sun but at least they make different genres with the property. Tennis, Racing, Kart and they do exhaust the IP by releasing multiple versions a console. Microsoft is the most diverse of all of the companies, before they brought Bethesda into the fold. Multiple titles in the same genres.
Their games run as a template now. That's why, when I ran through TLOU2, I couldn't help but think that this was standard Naughty Dog fare, incredible visuals, meh gameplay, best voice acting dialogue interaction between multiple characters I've seen in a while, it reminded me of the paint by numbers feel that I felt when I played through Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Everything felt Zelda-ish but like they went through the checklist of things that they know Zelda fans would want and polished it up well. All great games but somewhat soulless.
And people are on to it. When you see Sony games, how do you not see this?
I see the same game, just with a different protagonist. That gets old for people. Sad thing is, it wasn't my purchase habits that forced them to this conclusion. I bought all of that other stuff. Y'all didn't, that's how we got here.
85% of gamepass is crap indies to but we won't talk about that
