Brees has some of the best velocity in the NFL. Especially in the dome. His arm strength isn't good but his velocity is. As for Dalton and Ryan.

Whatever you want to call it, you don't need to have a rocket arm to succeed in this league. It appears to be more of a curse than a gift.

Didn't say he was now, I said "could see" as I could see him as elite in the future, out of those three I could see him consistently putting up 3k in the air and 500 on the ground, if that ain't elite I don't know what it.

thats not elite numbers in this day and age, alex smith looks like he can put up 3k+/500 rush yards every year with andy reid...none of the qbs right now in the NFC besides maaaybe brees are elite. brees is maaaaybe because of payton and dome making so much difference

you can easily win with alex smith or any average qb, you just need a team around them

thats the whole point, unless you have an elite qb (and only like 3-4 teams do) theres zero point paying qb dozens of millions. better thing is to assemble a team around them and plug them in.

alex smith's teams are like 30-9 over last 3 years not because of alex smith, but because of teams around him. part of it because he wasnt too expensive and was deemed expendable

now if hes about to get 100m from chiefs, this will prevent them in the future from contending.

It's a gift, never a curse. Now does it make someone a good QB? No.
That's like saying being 7 ft is a curse in the NBA. Nope, it's a gift, now it won't make you a good NBA player.

But you need velocity, there isn't one QB who lacks velocity in the playoffs outside of Dalton. While Alex Smith isn't that good, he has velocity.

well this is chicken and the egg part of good but not elite qbs whose team won rings and were deemed elite after they won. neither eli nor ben nor flacco are elite in a sense that they can overcome bad defense and oline/receiver issues like brady, peyton, or arod.

and out of those 3, only 1 have won in last 5 years

It's not a QB VS QB game but you don't win (95% of the time) without elite QB play. Defense and elite QB'S win rings. My SB pick this year is coming from three NFC because of the defenses, shyt it's Either gonna be SF, Seahawks or Car and the only elite QB I see from those three will be Cam but none of the three are "purgatory", shyt out of three teams left Rivers is the only onrush who would fit that category IMO

Cam is not elite. His ceilling may be elite but he aint elite. Kaep put up better numbers and even I think he's not in the same class as the elites in the league.

I think Ben and Eli can win under less than good situations, though. A guy like Schaub can win but he can't be the main cog. He'd need everything around him to be perfect. Wouldn't even waste my time building around a QB like that. There's maybe 10 established QBs who I would build around. The rest can only get you there if you hit 10/10 building around them.
