Can only speak for myself but usually my gfs of the past spent more on my Xmas gifts than I did there's, but I never had a gf trip because I tended to pay when we would go out. The key for me was making sure they loved the gifts without spending more than a $125 total.

For my current gf I bought her some $55 chuck Taylor shoes which she loves to wear. I haven't decided if that's the only gift I'm giving her or not. I already told her at most I'm buying her is 2 gifts.
