So unsure if I've fumbled it completely, as the original plan was to get a hotel booked once they reopened.

No one respects a person who talks too much. Even your dreams and goals should be kept to yourself until after you achieve the results. Give people a general idea but don't get into specifics. I learned this lesson over time.

This is the problem right here. Women always go cold when they think there isn't a chance you'll ever commit.

Even when you tell them what it is from the beginning, they'll still hold out until it's clear you want nothing serious.

Until she's invested a lot, you have to inspire some hope if you want to keep it going. It's dirty, but that's the game.
