I've experimented with more thoughtful openers (using clues from their profile to comment or joke) and I've experimented with the supposedly dreaded "hey" or "hey what's up" the latter gets me much less polarized results. Women say they want you to be original but the reality is unless you nail it with the right chic it comes off as try hard at best and cringey at worst. The fact that y'all matched is enough of an IOI from my experience and a simple greeting is good enough as some things may or may not come across as intended via text

Getting better profile pics and upping your conversation game would do wonders for some of y'all, or you could just fall in to self-defeatism
