I sent her uncle the video and he said I should apologize, and the video is too drastic and that it's really not fair because of her parents were paying 100% of it I would be fine with it which is true. He said that I have to show her how much it's going to cost in the long run and explain we basically have to not go out and save if we want to have it and show her why its not the best decision.

Honestly, the FOBs or overseas ones are usually easier to deal with. It gets tricky with the westernized ones, or ABGs, especially if she grew up privileged, dad’s a CEO type, Ivy League background, all that. Different expectations, different game.

@RealCrownHeights a friend of mine back then...Dutch dude I went to university called off his wedding the night before. This is back in probably 2014. He literally called me at about 9 PM while I was googling how I was gonna travel to their wedding (cause it was in a small suburb an hour away from Toronto) it was around the time we graduated and i dont know why he proposed in the first place, apparently it was during a time there was some turbulence in the relationship. what i do know is a lot of our friends (the ones he lived with during school) didnt like her.

Couple years later i think (lets say 2016) he went to do his MBA at the University of Toronto and landed a job at Mckinsey. While there he met his now wife, a pretty persian girl who is a corporate lawyer. They date a couple years and he proposes. Back in like 2019 they had a nice wedding at a well known museum in the city and i think the reception was there. Not sure how big it was but i recall maybe 75-100 ppl max. Today, they own a presumably $1-2 million dollar home in the city (Toronto aint cheap) and now have a 2nd kid on the way. He and I aint close like that anymore but he a good dude...just a bit flaky. Anyways...do with that story what you must.
