One of my boys had his head all messed up last night because a girl he's been getting close was going out with her girlfriends and said that she needed to look good for any potential guys they might meet right in front of him. I had to tell him to keep his head up and let it slide because if the feeling was really mutual between them, then other guys would have been the last thing on her mind. He seemed to cheer up a bit after he saw my POV but I could tell it was still bugging him.
I found it funny how a girl could have an in-depth, intimate conversation with a guy in one instance, then talk about looking good for other guys right in front of him in another when it's clear that the guy has feelings for them.

either she felt confident enough that she secured your boy to the point where she can punk him and still keep his affection OR she felt your boy was jocking her a little too much and wanted to give him a clear message she doesn't feel the same way without actually telling him "i don't feel the same way". either way, your boy needs to get his mind right and throw her in the bushes.

I came to the conclusion that she's just a very friendly girl that enjoys getting attention from guys but doesn't actually want it to go any further than them gawking over her, so I'm not even sure if she's feeling him like that. From what I've been told, it's so hard to get close enough to her to actually get anything that she's earned the nickname 'The Da Vinci Code'

the trick to break them is to straight up call them out on their BS early but in a
tone. as soon as you see her operate, expose her lightly while making slight fun of her. if she gets defensive, you know you got her. Tell a chick she's acting like a typical chick and her ego can't take it cause she wants to be viewed as special (like all chicks). if you get her to care about how you view her, that's already 3/5 of the battle.

in many ways i feel like a failure for not being able to fix her, but at the end of the day you can't really do much for anybody unless they see they need help. latest thing happened when we went to therapy and she just walked out. mind you i'm taking a long lunch and paying a lot of of pocket to be there so it's double
