Also interesting that JB is on pace for a better p4p season than Tatum ever had. JT’s best scoring season he avg a point more (30ppg to JB’s 29ppg) but JB’s shooting splits are crazy unexpected

He made a leap and gotta wonder what that’ll look like if/when JT comes back and in a playoff environment.

The problem is JT doesn’t have a bread & butter hence why he shoots like 45% from the field even with his strength & size. JB on the other hand is a part of middy club while still being young enough to use his physical gifts.

Like Bill Belichick says it’s better to get rid of a guy a year too early than a year too late :francis:

Mavs would be dead in the water with fat Luka dribbling the air out the ball getting empty stats on a $70 million a year contract

Now they have a movable piece with AD and a young star with Flagg next to Kyrie
Yup and there’s zero chance he got into shape if he was still on the Mavs. He only did it because he got traded

Unfortunately Kyrie and Derek lively got injured

Kyrie Max Christie (2nd in the league in 3pt % this season) Flagg Lively and AD is a dominant team

I agree. It's a big part of Boston's playoff struggles. Cost them what should've been their first title (2022) and at least two other Finals appearances (2023, 2025). If JB's efficiency and reliability remains when JT returns but JT still has the same inconsistencies...

Tatum also never has had a 30+ game stretch without JB…

The most he ever went without JB was 20-21, you know when he dropped 60 on the Spurs and put 51 on the KD/Harden/Kyrie Nets, then gave them 40 the next night? They are both great on their own and with each other. Also their TS% is on par with each other bc Jaylens mid range efficiency is balanced out with his mediocre FT shooting

As long as we have both not sure why yall always pin them against each other.

The only the reason the Mavs aren’t completely dead in the water now is because both Kyrie & AD got hurt last season which allowed Memphis to get in the playoffs over them and put them in the lottery. In other words, the Mavs failed upwards

Yall nikkas acting like this was part of Nico’s plan like he didn’t think Kyrie & AD were a championship core

Also AD doesn’t have the trade value you think…

Is that why he's never shot 50% from the field? JB was holding him back? :lupe:

or he'd have shot the ball 30x a game w/o JB instead of his usual 20-22 shots (the same 20-22 attempts JB is now taking)? :lupe:

:pachaha:

But nah, the intent isn't to open past traumatic wounds for the fanbase lol nor do i need a summary of his/their greatest hits. I'm more so praising JB for taking a leap despite the obstacles. Something i waited 30-games for bc i was skeptical he could keep up the pace with the increased workload and lack of "gravity" from JT.

It's also why i said, it'll be interesting what happens in the playoffs... bc JB was right there with JT struggle scoring during their ups and downs.

Tatum has always been a lot more volatile on a game to game basis than Jaylen, but efficiency wise they both are on the same level.

His raw FG% being lower has more to do with him shooting a lot more 3s than Jaylen but again their overall efficiency balances out bc Tatum is a much better FT shooter.

You’re free to have whatever skepticism you want but I think of all the top teams in the East right now it’s a bit bizarre to think any of the Celtics guys need to prove something.
