DC did better than expected :ehh:

As for LA, it’s a 10 for me. I’m including both the City of LA and LA County. I first visited back in 2013 and had a pretty good time there. Some of the neighborhoods and cities I’ve been through while there were:

Westchester
Inglewood
Hollywood
Beverly Hills
Bel Air
Westwood
Holmby Hills
Marina Del Ray
Santa Monica
Venice Beach
Fairfax District

I really like how LA has a very eclectic mixture of architecture from Spanish Colonial Revival and Art Deco to Contemporary Modern and Beaux Arts to Craftsman and English Tudor.

Despite its stereotype as being an auto-centric suburban metropolis, I found the walkability to not be half bad in LA. It really does depend on where in LA you are frfr. On top of that, a lot of LA felt surprisingly urban and consistently dense even in the “suburban” looking areas. I can’t lie, it was occasions when LA felt more urban than even DC.

LAX was one of the most interesting airports I’ve stepped foot in, you could tell it’s never a dull moment for the employees there whether it’s dealing with celebrities or regular people.

LA has a LOT of culture going on and it’s actually a very ethnically diverse city even with all the Mexicans. Now I do wish I would’ve seen more Black Angelenos beyond South LA because much of the Westside and the parts of Central LA I’ve visited felt mostly Cac and Mexican with the exception of Venice Beach. Venice Beach reminded me of the Adams Morgan neighborhood in DC...I immediately fukked with it. It was the most Black people I've seen on the Westside and it was quite racially diverse and I loved how grungy and gritty it looked in contrast to nearby Santa Monica with its pristine and sleek appearance and borderline sterility. Some parts of VB’s boardwalk smelt like shyt but other than that, it’s a pretty dope ass neighborhood and would actually live there if I had the opportunity and funds to live in Los Angeles.

I was mainly in Inglewood for Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles. The waffles themselves were okay but the fried chicken when you put the syrup on them thangs was pure crack :ohlawd::blessed:

Hollywood is worthy of a single visit just to say you’ve been there. Other than that, move on to somewhere else. It’s actually dirty asf and be careful about taking pics with the characters or of them lol. I did heard Hollywood is a lit nightlife area in LA tho so maybe return to the place on a weekend night :yeshrug:

Beverly Hills was pretty cool and surprisingly more urban than I thought it would be. It can be enjoyable if you don’t mind the strong boujee vibes. Y’all need to hit up Crustacean’s :blessed: Me and my mother had a nice ass meal there and when we were leaving in our chauffeur, a bunch of old business looking Cacs were staring at us with the :dahell::what::mjpls: looks, low key being jealous of us flaunting our Maryland Black Excellence right in front of their faces :umad::win:

Speaking of Crustacean’s, LA got some bomb ass food especially if you wanna dine low budget. LA got some of the best greasy spoons, street food, and farmers market food in the whole country. The Brazilian, Mexican, Seafood, Burgers, and Soul Food were on point. I wish I had the opportunity to try more foods in LA tho.

Outside their buses, I haven’t used their public transit. Their buses definitely get you were you need or want to go and are pretty efficient it seems. But them bammas be driving like NYC taxis tho, ride be a lil rough for a bus sometimes :lupe:

The weather by the coast was the definition of perfection. For night, just bring out a light jacket or sweater, you straight.

A lot of the women were fine asf too.

Legendary music scene with its contributions to Hip Hop, Trap, Metal, Grunge, Alternative Rock, R&B, Street Dance, EDM, Pop, Funk, etc.

It’s more I can write about but I’ll stop here. It’s a city that I really enjoy and look forward to visiting again because trust me when I say 6 days is not enough to get to know LA deeply.

One knock I would give to LA is the traffic. I’m from PG County and it’s been lists where LA and the DMV often vie for the number 1 or 2 spot of worst traffic congestion in the nation. They ain’t kidding either....DMV traffic is one of the very few in the country that can touch LA’s because all that freeway traffic when I visited that city was some next level shyt.

9.5... best city in the US.

remove traffic and it's a 10. i've lived in DTLA and culver city... the former is best neighborhood in the city right now as far as i'm concerned :ahh:

i'll be back soon to settle down.

What’s DTLA like and what are some really good spots to hit up when visiting? I’m very curious about that neighborhood and playing games like GTA V, Midnight Run: Los Angeles, and LA Noire make it even more alluring.

I train in mission viejo and Huntington Beach and the commute is ass as it is. Plus I lucked up on a house with a pool and only pay $650 a month for rent. I’m just gonna hunker down and stack whatever I can. The gas is what fukking kills me, even at Arco it’s 3.89 per gallon :francis:

It is what it is even tho there’s more black people in bham it was still more whites so I’m used to it.

Oh and I forgot to tell y’all even the most butter faced of broads more than likely got ass, I’ve never been so close to shooting my shot at my clients, I’m gon get fukked up one day :manny:

Them California gas prices are infamous. Nearly double what mostly everywhere else paying. I think they figure with that many people, they can just tax that ass and profit. That or maybe logistics but I don't know what the transportation routes for gasoline is.

One of the few places in the US I really wanna visit that I haven’t been to (Houston is another one).

Good thing I got a cousin out there now.

Same here but I'll be visiting Houston in January no matter what it takes.

The thing I like about LA and the whole west coast is the variety of land there. You can hit up the beach or hit up some mountains and do some skiing or just chill, plus the whole grand canyon and dessert and whatnot. Or do a bunch of other activities and the nature is beautiful. Plus everything is within a few hours away. Out here the only options are the beaches and theme parks. Cuz when you on swampland surrounded by water, and the only direction to drive is north, the options are limited.

Dope ass post. I was out there back in like 05 so it’s been a minute. I got family out there on my mothers side who moved out there to Inglewood in the 60s so we stayed with them. One thing I noticed is everybody drives.

They even be having two cars just becuz
:heh:

And everybody hustles. One nikka at the gas station tried to sell me a mobile home
:heh:

It was a mindfukk how spread out the city is. But the weather is goat. You could come out in a wife beater or hoodie and be comfortable. But this in August. Not sure if you can do that all year

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
Nah i have to respectfully disagree

In LA there are so many sub cultures to front with

Acting/production - bunch of fronting “actors/actresses” filmmakers , writers , directors etc

Music - la is a bigger music hub fronting a&rs, artists , labels , etc

Gangbanging - fronting gangbangers

Surfers- fronting surfers

Weed culture - fake growers -investors etc

Skateboards

Etc etc

Atlanta is more music and sports .... La the fronting crosses more social economic and race barriers

I've lived in both. It isn't close, and I can sum it up like this:

You know who the people with real influence are in LA. You know the people with real money, real grind, and real respect. There is no hiding from it, and if someone in LA can't see someone is a mirage, it isn't because they aren't identifiable...

Atlanta on the other hand is one big Love & Hip Hop show. Extraordinarily pretentious, to the point it's more difficult to see who is pump faking, because so many people down there pump faking. Cats are renting luxury cars and saying they own em, to impress the next muhfukka who doing the same thing, while they both lie to each other. Cats wanna flock around anybody with an image of anything, the bytches are all falling over themselves to run in the same circles. Everybody in Atlanta will tell you they trap stars, and they'll tell you this with a straight face in the presence of someone they copping light packs from. They all trying to keep up with each other and they all lying to each other...

You don't see this level of fukk shyt in LA, cats who ain't holding not just out here pretending they are...

The same music and entertainment fronting you talking about can be applied to Atlanta multiple more times...

[

I’m assuming you’re talking about the black communities.

The white people aren't that different. Atlanta has some bad white bytches, something not well known because in our circles we don't think "white folk" when we think of Atlanta, but there's some high quality Beckies out there. But they on the same wave within their own white subcultures...

DC did better than expected :ehh:

Salute all this...

The "LA is suburban" narrative is dramatically overblown. I moved directly from South Central LA to Southwest DC almost 20 years ago (then on into Northern Virginia). I've spent a ton of time in DC----->never once have I ever thought it was more urban than LA. If someone is strictly speaking about traditional East Coast urbanity, okay, but to keep perspective, there's around 700,000 District residents in 61-square miles. There's around 800,000 South Central residents in 51-square miles. There's around 900,000 Central LA residents in 58-square miles...

LA is on that next tier of urban cities after NY, which is truly the only US city in its urban space. DC, been to Boston, been to SF, throw Philly and Chi in there, along with LA, all these cities are on the same tier of urbanity. LA's urbanity is massively underrated, and as I've told people, don't tell me that the city that can fit its entire city population within just one section of a larger city, and the larger city still have more people, don't tell me that smaller city is the more urban one...

They look different but DC and LA are on the same scale of urbanity overall...
