I said what I said. I hate her voice. Next.
I got her as "very good". You could POSSIBLY make an argument for elite. Whatever level she is on, the Whitneys, Gladys, Aretha, and Pattis are a level higher. Keke Wyatt is up there too, she just don't have many hits.

Its a shame her catalog isn't up to par with her voice. Been a solo artist for 16 years and not one classic album to hang her hat on. For all the great songs and production shes had catered to her throughout her career, that's awful. I can't name one good album from her. I wanted so badly to proclaim Lemonade her classic but it just fell short.
She's the weirdest artist in that regard. Top 10 female vocalist all time with no classic album. Just goes to show you how hard it is to have the total package.

Gave her an 8. I think people are critical b/c they tired of seeing her. She oversaturated the market with herself years ago...but that's how you have to do it in order to gain the success she has had.
Her voice is solidly good. But lacks the sweetness at higher ranges and effortless smoothness needed to be legendary. She has powerful vocals but not really soulful vocals.
However her sound is distinctive. She had made a lane for her own voice which is something good vocalists do.
But there are far too many other SOLID vocalists above her that have brought me to tears to rate her in the 9-10 range.
But still one of the best around in our generation. Iconic.

Also I tend to evaluate vocalists according to the difficulty of the songs they are able to produce. Beyoncé has good range, but hell I could sing just about any song she's ever made.
Try that shyt with Mariah, Whitney, Tamia, Deborah Cox, Anita, Leona, Fantasia, and see how far you get.

I'm in tears again just watching this shyt. The music Leona has created with her voice is unlike anything I've ever heard.
Just pause the video ANYWHERE to see some amazing shyt. Transitions, long ass sustained vibratos...flawless head and chest voice....incomparable

Hmmm bey gets a 7... maybe an 8. She a great singer but not a 10. She’s creative, yes. Talented yes. Game changer, sure.

I think its because her albums are not formed cohesively. Her team selects the best songs from writers/producers who created songs specifically for Beyonce without a sense of what the bigger picture looks like.

Very seldom do I disagree with you but I have to today. None of the women you mentioned are better vocalists than Bey.
Fantasia is merely a power singer as is Jennifer Hudson. That's the only type of singing they can do. But I will admit Fantasias new song Enough is a banger.
I've never been impressed with Leona Lewis. She's always been an average singer to me
