Everywhere...You never there.
It really was....one of the reasons I stopped listening to Bobbito

Shyt like Thirston Howell was pathetic

Lo Lives were official on that NYC street shyt tho

His Lo collection :noah:

Copped thirstin's first "official" solo... Haven't listened to it in a decade at least. :smh:

But he did kinda carry the torch for that humorous, grimy shyt. :manny:

It was two different 'underground hip-hops' in the 2000s

one side was most of the corny motherfukkas listed in this thread most of whom were a damn joke and underground for a reason!

the other side was dope cats Akir, DOOM, immortal Tech, The STRONGHOLD, MF GRIMM, M.I.C. Hasan Salaam, Count bass D, Edan ect.

facts...off topic but Hasan Salaam makes porn videos:gucci::heh:

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
Omg! I will not accept the Jedi Mind Tricks slander...lol. Violent By Design still goes hard. But I can see why people dont like it.
Used to love it bro. Idk i was so suprised flipping thru it and it justbwasnt clicking with me no more.

I mean the joints i did like (smash mics and heavenly divine remix) are still pretty good but the other joints i just couldnt vibe wit anymore. I migjt need to give it another chance tho.. maybe i justbwasnt in the mood cuz if u woulda asked me about it a cpl months back i woulda said itbwas one of my top 30 hip hop albums.

I never flipped on an album like that before. I was shocked at my new feelins. Jus allah used to be one of those rappers i looked forward to the most

Damn I wish I woulda been up on this thread back when it first popped off a year ago. I was deep in the indie/underground hip-hop scene. I agree with the general premise of this thread. Alot of that nerd CAC shyt that dropped back then aged horribly. It was self-righteous, pretentious, off-beat bullshyt. :scusthov: It also was low-key :mjpls: with its holier than thou attitude like their brand of hip-hip was too advanced for the average, typical hip-hop consumer.

HOWEVER make no mistake about it, that era was NOT the worst for hip-hop. Its actually the second best era to me behind the Golden 90's era. That underground/indie period created so much dope and slept on hip-hop with artists like....
- All Natural + Family Tree
- Binary Star
- Vakil
- Molemen
- Mr. Complex
- J.U.I.C.E.
- Five Deez
- Lone Catalysts
- Scienz Of Life
- Mass Influence
- The Arsonists
- Jigmatas
- Black Attack
- Basement Khemists
- Old World Disorder
- 427
- Self-Scientific
- Micronauts
- Laster
- C-Rayz Walz
- Oktober
- Sub-Con
- Mike Zoot

I could go on and on and on and on literally.... but you get the idea. Alot this shyt age gracefully and some sounds dated but still bangs. If I get some serious free time I'm going to make a dedicated, on-going thread about the best music to come from this creative period of hip-hop.
I listened to everyone on this list and still do.
