Honestly, I like El-P's raps. Most of the sh*t he says you won't catch the first time; his rhymes are dense with meaning.

Dude made a reference to alternate universe theory, the Mandela effect, and Back to the Future to talk about how he went from rags to riches... in two bars. It's only "gibberish" if you don't care to discern what he's saying.

Just depends on what you want out of music. Some people enjoy Aesop Rock and other extremely abstract lyricists to the point where the artists don’t even want you to “get” what they’re saying.

And some like Too Short.

The crazy part, though... some people like both and everything else in between.

Don't get me wrong, El is underrated as a rapper but half the time dude is just going in too deep with the complex raps. This is from somebody who listens to Camp Lo, Aesop Rock, and a few others that spit in a code word lingo.

What albums are these that Aesop produced?
I loved El-P both lyricaly and production wise during the Co Flo days, his Def Jux day is when he lost me lyrically. He was doing way too much. Fantastic Damage is a hard listen, when I listen to it nowadays I think, "What the hell was I thinking liking this?!" Some of the beats are good on that tho. And I like a lot of his production during the Def Jux days, especially stuff he did for Mr. Lif and Cage. Since Def Jux has gone under I like his rhymes more, not as much as the Co Flow days but he improved from his overly complicated shyt during Def Jux. But post Def Jux he seems to be getting worse and worse production wise. As some have said, all the songs sound the same now. I can't distinguish them sometimes or just don't care to.
Basically, he has had a lot of ups and downs both lyrically and production wise throughout his career. I haven't even listened to RTJ4, its not a priority but I'm sure I will get to it eventually.

It will be interesting to see what direction these guys go in when they eventually make solo albums again. El-Ps solo stuff was definitely darker and more conceptual. Killer Mike getting some funkier beats like Madlib or Big KRIT would be a good fit.

And like you said I was too angry to finish because there was REAL momentum and progress happening and this scary ass fake revolutionary is trying to stifle the movement! And notice how they praised his conservative speech ALL OVER the media! Trying to shove him down our throats! CNN, Fox News, major newspapers. All of sudden they respect and promote what this rapper has to say! Gee I wonder why? Fake ass bytch!

What makes it 10x fukkin' worse revolution is all he fukkin' raps about. Dude you should be at the front of the mob with a bullhorn turning people the fukk up not fukkin' on the news trying calm down the mob. It was very disappointing. He lost A LOT of points with me over that shyt.
