People stay forgetting that MJ only retired in 98 because the Bulls were going to be broken up regardless.

The Bulls never played against a dominant center which the Spurs had in Duncan (though he was lined up at PF then) and then D-Rob not his prime still giving 16-10-2+ BPG. With Pop matching Phil as a basketball mind.

They likely could have, and this is one of the reasons why Jerry Krause (RIP) was one of the most hated men in Chicago

The change of scenery was good for Pippen, but I'm talking more about age. I'm not counting that group out if they were in their late 20s, but mid 30s after 3 straight finals? Fatigue + the league was transitioning into the Duncan/Shaq era.
I can definitely see the Bulls 4-peat, but I can also see the Spurs win.

Logically I say the Bulls were damn near out of gas in ‘98 so ‘99 would’ve been worse.
