Scottie Pippen: Bulls core could've won at least one more ring if Front Office didn't force them out

Nah....MJ was on his last legs. That 1997-1998 season wasn't even MJ anymore.

People stay forgetting that MJ only retired in 98 because the Bulls were going to be broken up regardless.

With a 50 game season though i think the Bulls would've had a great shot. MJ would've came back in February fresh as fukk

The Bulls never played against a dominant center which the Spurs had in Duncan (though he was lined up at PF then) and then D-Rob not his prime still giving 16-10-2+ BPG. With Pop matching Phil as a basketball mind.

:patrice:

They probably make it there but the trophy? :patrice:

They likely could have, and this is one of the reasons why Jerry Krause (RIP) was one of the most hated men in Chicago :francis: He deliberately destroyed that team because of his ego. Talmbout "I don't care if we go 82-0 and win the title, I'm breaking up this team :camby:" :martin:

yet scottie pippen played all 50 games that year playing 40mpg the highest of his career
toni kukock played 44/50 games avg 37 mpg 18ppg 7 arebounds 5 assists
rodman played 23 games with the lakers signed late but would have been same old dennis

and are we doubting michael jordan?
The change of scenery was good for Pippen, but I'm talking more about age. I'm not counting that group out if they were in their late 20s, but mid 30s after 3 straight finals? Fatigue + the league was transitioning into the Duncan/Shaq era.

I can definitely see the Bulls 4-peat, but I can also see the Spurs win.

Dunno about them winning in 1999. Once the Spurs got off their struggling start, they were rolling. Bulls couldn't stop Duncan and Robinson together :yeshrug:

Still can't believe the 8th seed Knicks got that far...

Logically I say the Bulls were damn near out of gas in ‘98 so ‘99 would’ve been worse.

The issue TRULY comes down to betting on someone to beat Jordan four times in two weeks. It’s just difficult to see it happening.

All this talk of the bulls "being on their last legs" in '98 nikka please.... :mjlol:

What team have you ever seen on their last legs win 62 games have the best SRS rating in the league go 11-4 in their conference playoffs and win the finals in 6 games... Them nikkas were dominant... The only thing that would have stopped them was health yet all of their key players stayed healthy during the 98-99 season
