Money Be Green
Superstar
So much disrespect to killa in here

We notsaying cats was going gaga for Wu like the Asians and Cacs, yet you couldn't deny the infectiousness of The Wu..
You mean to tell me NOBODY was bumping Cream or Can it be so simple..Wu crossover tracks...where u was at?![]()
nas was never a superstar neither.
sorry dog.
during iww, and the release of the video to:
if i ruled the world
nas was a superstar who ironically and for all puns intended as a rapper, was ruling the world as a rap superstar, breh.
now, granted he never got his draw to that same fever pitch.
where he dominated, from anywhere to fueling/elongating the mtv saturation method science.
yet, nas was a superstar, breh.
i may not agree with him selling out.
yet, he did sellout and became a fully actualized pop meets rap superstar, breh.
if he never did that, no one could have came behind him and been an other worldly skilled rapper and blew up, period.
art barr

watch the FULL video all 8 minutes....and when cam comes out.....sit your ass down and respect the legend......his presence alone screams superstar and the building and stage knew it.

Cam was no superstar...
Love his music and his movement. He had a Gucci Mane'esq run
They throwing wu in other countries but skipped Ohio..lol
Don't talk about their solo shyt if you read what I said I respect the solo artist I, talking about as far as the group is concerned..
And I never saw WU-clothing on anyone other than bums and Asians. As I said before the WU movement wasn't as big as y'all think...In fact if they held a concert today what do you think the demographics of the audience would be....whose the true WU clan.
I'm not even saying that independent they weren't stars...I am saying cats weren't listening to them as much as y'all think...maybe if I lived on the Far East coast I'd feel different but I never once heard anyone bumping that WU shyt...never heard anyone saying they needed to go to the WU concert....shyt seems like more cats bump yo and Gucci than classic WU.
what arenas did he fill up tho? the closest he came was being a mid-carder with the firm on that other puffy tour.
how many non-rap fans knew about nas? how many bells did his name or any of his songs ring amongst '90s grandparents?
rap superstar? sure.
superstar? nah i dont see it.
You seem to be missing the point of the thread - which is whether Cam is a superstar - and if we are comparing Wu than whether they were superstars. You are focused on whether Wu were getting play in your neighborhood - I guess trying to make the point that they weren't getting love in the hood nationwide. Being a superstar has nothing to do with that. To be a superstar you've gotta sell to whites, the burbs and have name recognition worldwide.
read my last post. if we dont all agree that dude was a superstar. guess what? he wasnt one.i think some of you aren't really looking at this objectively. There was a TIME PERIOD where cam was indeed a superstar. It might've been shorter than leprechauns but Cam and the dip set had shyt on LOCK for a minute, and this is coming from someone whose NEVER been a cam'ron fan and thinks he's borderline mediocre as a rapper. He's not a LEGEND in the way Jay or Nas is (which is another stratosphere). But he briefly attained superstar status.
