I gotta hope that these athletes (Chris Paul and Lebron) are much more savvy today than the athletes of past and actually hold their own in this labor dispute.

its not the cats at the top of the food chain like lebron kobe and cp3 that bend, its the mid level and lower level guys out in these streets living check to check that are ready to drop their draws and bend over to the owners if the labor stoppage is more than a week or two.

to be honest, it's hard to side with either side. we're talking milliionaire's vs billionaire's. to 99.999999% of us that's life changing money no matter how you slice it. I think both sides are greedy and trying to get the most outta the other.

It's not though, it's employee vs employer. Unless they employ people themselves, everyone should be able to relate to the players in these situations.

But Vegas is NEVER getting a team and Seattle's a good 20 years away from landing one

Yet the ploy of moving to either city still works...It will continue to work until a city says "fukk it. move".

The Minnesota Vikings used the LA ploy to get a new stadium, but instead of Minne's state/city government telling Zigi Wilf ain't no damn Vikings' fans in LA they gave up the ass. Any NFL team that moves to LA will be begging to go back within a few years. Any NBA team that goes to Seattle will have to deal with the fact that old ass Key Arena is what's going down for them. Any NBA team that moves to LV will immediately have to compete with casino shows and I guarantee the casinos will put up a fight. That's the reality, but playing against fear still works. All it'll take is a single city to show them the door.

I knew we was fukked when all these dumbazz contracts were being tossed around. They about to cry poverty to get that salary cap in check. Gonna be fun to watch how fast everyone turns on Silver:ohlawd:
Do you remember all the posters in here defending the league last time and blaming the players about being greedy . We gonna be in for a long lockout when owners blame players for the ridiculous deals they gave.

Las Vegas is making an arena in hopes of landing a team for the NHL
not really. they would like to get a pro team here, but the arena will be one of the more profitable arenas in the country either way. they will host all kinds of shyt at that joint aside from a pro sports team. it was being built regardless of luring a sports team here, unlike most arenas in other cities

It's the publics fault though. Like the John Oliver peace, the sports fan will have the cities neck if it loses a team on their watch.

You're right, Las Vegas will use the arena for many different things. I was under the impression Las Vegas wanted to land the NBA before landing the NHL but knows getting the NHL to come first is more realistic. So if the city proves it can support the NHL well and shows it is a pro sports town (like how OKC has shown since getting the Thunder), getting another pro sports team won't be as hard. Las Vegas is fighting the "you're nothing but a tourist city" type of criticism like how Orlando did in years past before getting pro teams.
