I've been wanting to do a Re-Appreciation Thread for Stankonia and Speakerboxxx/Love Below

:boss: Both albums was basically 'Kast last group efforts, and LEFT (pun intended) fans

(Including me) unsure on how far advanced Big Boi and Andre went HAM with their Hip-Hop/Advant Garde musicology transcending sound:dj2::ohhh:

...such ashamed to go from past innovated GOATs to FUTURE Young Thots:scust:
Future is dope, have you heard March Madness, I can't go a day without that song

So Cal
Breh....did you just wake up from a coma or something?

Andre ain't even rapping any more. He's been working on his solo album going on 10 years. Outkast as a group is effectively done.

And you said again "Big Boi got better".....again, breh....that is your opinion.

FACTUALLY, nobody in their right mind would argue Outkast or DF in general are as relevant, important, "popping", or whatever word you want to use, as they were in the 90's.

It's like a Wu-Tang co-sign in 1995 vs 2015. One is worth more than the other. I'll let you figure out which.

Why that's so hard for you to understand....and why you keep mentioning completely irrelevant shyt like "but they got better!", I have no idea.

Fred.

:snoop: you said the prime was in the 90s, i said he got better. :mindblown: how is that not relevant? isn't your prime when you were at your best? and why are your opinions facts and mines opinions? :wtb:
your whole argument is based on opinion. doesn't matter if you wanna call it a fact or not.

andre going mia has made him more relevant than he's ever been in the 90s. again, dre has been the hottest feature in the game for damn near 10 years. every artist talks about how they want to work with him. was that happening in the 90s? no, he wasn't even doing features outside the camp. not to mention outkast ain't even blow until the 00s. hell I've even seen people on this board say outkast was a regular group in the 90s. you wrong. how you not relevant when you got verses on albums by rick Ross, drake, and Lil Wayne? :dahell: c'mon man.

:gag: At Future getting compared to the worst member of wu-tang in any way, shape, or form :bertfacepalm:If anything, Future would be like the Cappadonna of the Dungeon Fam.

nikkas acting like Big Boi isn't still making music :dahell:

This goes back to me saying that Big Boi deserves more props for keeping the name alive, cause Andre don't care about Outkast.

even at that,It's not like you can see much influence of Big Boi in any of this generations Atlanta rappers.

:yeshrug: blame those that "control" hiphop. Trash, good, whatever, there has to be a reason them atl nikkas are always in front
there is a reason. atl listeners support like no other. southern fans support like no other. which is a good thing. but it backfires when whats being produced is bad to mediocre, those same fans will support regardless of the talent. they dont care. "we winning" , "represent the A" is all they care about. no matter how lame, how terrible some of these rappers may be. Because the south isnt KNOWN for lyricism and serious production and just telling great stories, etc. They are known for and have always been known for creating party songs, club music, trap music. thats it. now sure some of us older heads know they had more than that to offer way back when. but these youngins only really are up on the nonsense rap.

lastly, i have a funny feeling if someone ran the numbers of online fans. The south in general would win over any other region. Why? because truth be told. there is nothing to do in these places but hop on line all day long. So the fans are in the internet streets going hard for all of their favorite Atl/Southern artists. since online is now where its at and has been this way for years. this is another reason i believe they will remain on top. its just too much to do in other areas in the US.

and lets not kid ourselves. what is there to do in the ATL? go to the strip club and then...... Go to the club...and then.....uhhh...uhh get something to bar... and then go back to the strip club. thats about it.

so they are playing that music and loving it because thats all they have to do around those parts. since the rap landscape is no longer about talking about your personal struggle, or your people's struggle. its about talking up yourself and how great you are at getting money. it fits right in.

The industry loves it, since its easily replaceable. meaning if one of these southern dudes in up in jail, die, or just stop rapping. it wont matter. on to the next one. its not like the last guys music was timeless/or great. it was just barely ok if that. anyone can make that kind of music. Next.... like a assembly line.

There is no such thing as another outkast or goodie mob. they were from the same crew and even they sounded different from one another. you cant replicate these groups. PERIOD.

You can't replicate jay Z, they've tried. You can't replicate 2pac, Ice Cube, LL, Fab...Guru(rip), Too short(as simple as he was. has there ever been another?NOPE), you cant replicate snoop. sorry you just cant do it. they tried to replicate biggie TWICE. and it didnt really work. you cant replicate Pun unless its his son. these guys die or get old or get thrown in jail whatever. thats it. There is no OTHER NAS. I havent seen another redman yet. i havent seen a crew as hard as The Wu, Tribe, Nwa, outkast, ghetto boys since. dont get me wrong, no limit was doing their thing and so was the hot boys. but lets keep it 150. i would say the hot boys came close to a new era ghetto boys. i'll give them that.

wayne cant even be replicated.

Jay Elec is old and slow with the release date. more or less because that type of Real hiphop still may not sale like it should yet. so they dont want to put him out and it not blow like it should. you know, it could easily fall on deaf ears. and he's from the south. you see how they doing big Krit. not enough love for that brotha.

People really showing they didn't know too much about Atlanta hip hop outside of Outkast and Dungeon Family
of course they didnt. why would they? its not like the ATL had all sorts of great hiphop back when they were poppin. sure for you locals maybe. but not for anyone else.

it's like me telling yall about Goldy From The Dangerous crew(in the bay). i'm from cali, i was all up on that bay music back then too. but most people even in L.A. were not up on that like that back then. thats local music with a local sound.

You do have to salute Atlanta for their consistent efforts to keep the females dancing.

hey you aint lying about that. but thats the issue. thats all they are good at for the most part. but they get a huge chunk of the rotation time just for that reason. so it is what it is. and now that these youngins only go with whats trending. they dont know how to find heat of their own and push that. so they run to whats already hot which was probably made hot by mostly women to begin with. so yes your hiphop is ran by chicks. that was not the case in the past.

:what: nikka wtf do you think the south is? A lost, forgotten part of the world or something? If it was like that then they would even get internet service. You're talking stupid simply because you don't care for music from Atlanta, typing essays and shyt?

so all you play in the whip is strip club anthems, club music, and the occasional repetitive trap boy song?

That's all I play.

I'm from Cleveland, we don't listen to that peace and positivity bullshyt around here...because nikkas ain't positive in the hood.

We trying to get money or find a way to get to it to feed our families...either by legal or illegal means.

That ATL music is like the unofficial soundtrack to the streets up here.
