nikka wtf do you think the south is? A lost, forgotten part of the world or something? If it was like that then they would even get internet service. You're talking stupid simply because you don't care for music from Atlanta, typing essays and shyt?
bruh. been there done that. you aint talking to some dude from NYC or some west coast spot that has never left their state. i've been in the south. had people in the south(like most black people). with all the growth the ATL has experienced. There's still not much to do in reality. people are constantly opening up bars/eateries, which open one day close the next more or less. since its over saturated at this point. but when you ask a dude What is there to do in the A. you know what they tell you? the first thing they tell you is..... We can hit the strip club.
That is crazy to me. when the strip club is literally the first or 2nd thing TO do. but thats a culture in the A and maybe even a few other spots in the south(not all). So no wonder all they making is trap music/strip club anthems that end up in the regular club/bar.
let me give you an example.
Cali(my state). back when hiphop was so called great. We had dudes from the same city on completely different stuff.
i'm saying how do you go from Spice 1 (thug/street music). to too short( B's & H's music) to Souls of Mischief (smoking and just having a good time living life as youngins.)
all had hit songs/records around the same time periods.
how does one go from The Pharcyde to Ice Cube to Cypress Hill back to del the funky homosapien
COMPLETELY different artists/styles/production.
This DOES NOT EXIST in the mainstream today from the south. Dont tell me to go search for it. Hiphop has been mainstream and popular for a very long time now. there is no excuse. I should not have to hunt for other types of music from the south like its 1982 and hiphop just started. Thats ridiculous.
These artist/styles i named above were easily accessible because they were mainstream to somewhat mainstream. meaning they all at least got a little radio play or video bumps on whatever video station that was hot at the time.
everyone was playing these artists. in the hood and in the burbs.
let me not even get on all the east coast styles.
when there is more to do. you have more styles. everyone isnt about and or/doing the same thing. where as of course there are some dudes from the A and any other southern spot on some other ish. but it doesnt matter. its not enough of them on it to make it a movement. well in these other places there's enough weird people running around cali to make Del acceptable.
the southern rappers from back in the day were more educated in their raps.
as ghetto as the ghetto boys were. they were talking about some real hood stuff but bringing light to a lot of stuff that was going down in the ghetto.
you for the most part do not get that at all today.
outkast were spitting some college educated/street knowledge raps.
Goodie mob was that classic hood blackness educated all wrapped up into one.
for the most part the A is not representing those types of dudes nowadays. yall are pushing Trap music only, or strip club music ONLY. thats on yall in the A. You get tired of being called slow or not lyrical, or wack rap even though yall are technically winning. well start supporting other STYLES of hiphop. Start supporting hiphop that talks about something of substance. you can still have your party hits. everyone needs to let loose on a friday. but aint no way you telling me you want to listen to a strip club anthem when you seeing young black dudes getting merked by the cops in the streets every other tuesday.
i'm just sayin
again, its on yall. dont get mad at me for calling a spade a spade and telling it like it is.
