Yeah. I feel as if "All For One" was hit hard as well, but not as hard as "Illmatic".

I mean if your a dirtbomb kid with 10 bucks in your pocket, are you gonna go to Crazy Eddie's/The Wiz and buying ONE tape?

Or are you going to take that ten and scoop THREE tapes off that West African cloth lol?

Brand Nubian? It was on par definitely but better? Dunno bout it...now gotta go listen to both

If you dont think this is top 3 ... I can't really fukk withcha ... that one dude said 400 degrees :russ: thats disgusting

illmatic
liquid swords
soul on ice

epitome of high level wordplay and flow, over locked in straight hiphop beats. If illmatic was born near the heart... than 400 degrees would be the arms or fingers. Not even close

alot of yall dont like music for the way music makes you feel
you like music for the lies and fantasy it gives you... and it shows
thats why people like IWW, yall want that fantasy feel. :hhh:
illmatic is the perfect emcees CD... it hits because the producers have kept up with the incredible emceeing. So the average listener gets stuck actually paying attention to the lyrics
meanwhile Nas is rapping so much and so smooth that it keeps your attention as well. Incredibly similar to how you can put Rakim and Eric B on at any time and it stands out.

Yes G.

Liquid swords is fukking untouchable. This is everything that a true hiphop album should be. absolute banger after banger from front to back.

Same applies for Illmatic. There's a reason Nas never hit that Illmatic level again. it couldn't be topped.

Guilty of never having heard the Ras Kass album tho, gonna have to peep that

:yeshrug: Lol :russ:

what would you put in the top 3 ... that has been my go to list for a long time. I dont even have to think at this point. I guess you can substitute it with Doggystyle, but to me... doggystyle is in a different category with AOEM and commerically sounding polished albums.
