My sister's job is being threatened with the government right now breh and she's in cyber security. I've worked in tech and what I once learned in college is being phased out.

Brehs do not need to stick their heads in the sand at this point. Everybody is going to be affected in some way.

AI will improve productivity which will increase pressure. but 1-for-1 replacing programmers. i can't see that yet or anytime soon.

if general programming can be done by machines then those same programs will be able to do a lot more jobs outside of TECH.

And start to understand what it is you are helping to build when you get up and go to work everyday. What's the end goal for these decision makers at these big conglomerates.

well .. machine physical bodies is not a difficult problem. we already have those.

No job is safe from globalization. Tech workers said the same thing once upon a time. All it takes is for the government to change a few immigration rules to flood any job sector with overseas workers.

India has to send it's citizens abroad because it can't produce enough jobs. My company has divisions all over the globe. And with the exception of Latin America there is always some Indian person in that country.

If you send 800 job applications as a software engineer then you're a dummy with poor coding / problem solving skills.

Likely a lot of these being low effort, easy apply, type jobs where hundreds already applied before him.

Go code something to help you apply to jobs in a smarter way, or figure out a better process than spamming "apply now."

I pray I don't have to job search under pressure in this market but I'd be trying something different, not whining to the media. I'd be using AI to help too.
