:russ: like what???? You'd definitely have to explain that. Shortly after Life After Death in 97, hip-hop moved to the south to where it is today lol. Life after Death didn't influence shyt. Great album though.
LAD was hugely influential breh. Look at how Jay ran with it on Vol 2. Nas on I Am and Nastradamus. Cam.

I'm not drawn to C1 either. gillie's "influence"(lol) is too blatant to me. it was too much to stomach.

but C2 is like child's play in comparison to C1. he had his moments, but overall, C2 was a CLEAR step down from C1.

I never cared to learn the tracklist from C2. but yea, a lot of tacky stuff on there. "I'm the fireman fire fiff fiff fireman".:dead:
I'm more drawn to the production on C2 and he was putting out some of his best performances ex Tha Mobb. Also his voice was in peak form and was never the same after C2.

You could say Go DJ was tacky too both albums if we're being honest have filler one too many tracks.

I dunno how you guys believe it to be highly influential in 1997. LAD was a dark album... it didn't usher in a second run of some real hip-hop... or darker hip-hop... the south took over... where nothing was influenced by LAD.

Vol. 2 don't sound like it was LAD influenced at all :manny:... that was Jay's full speed sprint at the charts. Album is half singles and shines bright... LAD is hard. Going Back To Cali, Ten Crack Commandments, My Downfall, Somebody's Gotta Die, Kick In The Door, What's Beef?, I Got A Story To Tell, Long Kiss Goodnight... I don't hear Vol. 2... or Nastradamus.

If anything, LAD is Big's version of IWW.

LAD influence came from people following the formulaic layout for making a variety show album. the idea that you gotta have a joint for the girls, the clubs, the streets, an inspirational song, a song for the west, one for the south, east, Midwest, etc. that all started with LAD.

it had a sonic influence too, but everybody that followed behind it sonically, pretty much ruined their careers. jay-z almost ruined his buzz with volume 1, trying to follow behind bad boy.

volume 2 was more of a ruff ryder influenced album sonically, but he still followed the variety blueprint of LAD.

whats funny is, most people that followed the variety layout of LAD, ended up becoming under-achievers or just not blowing up at all. and theyre still doing it. people don't realize the main reason LAD popped the way it did and wasn't criticized is because biggie died right before its release.

I dont know man I love Chronic 2001. but everyone has a different opinion.

it was :flabbynsick: rap breh.

i remember dudes used to crack jokes. like when the "up in smoke tour" extended their dates, and cube pulled out, the running joke was that he had a bad back.

:flabbynsick: rap breh. its the norm nowadays tho. i understand.

The only album is disagree with is The Chronic 2001. I think it's one the cleanest albums, sonically ever made and I think the rapping is more consistent than the original.

most of the rapping was corny.

the disrespect muhf*ckas are giving to LAD and 2001

You fakkits wouldn't know what a CLASSIC album sound like if Dre brought his equipment to your bedroom, had biggie in the booth and created an album together right in front your face!

THE IRONY of this statement.

listen man, i don't want dr dre anywhere near my bedroom. especially if hes still on steroids. MY ASS IS GRASS.:to:

, gave Kanye and Just Blaze something to be inspired from, Scott Storch got a launching pad out of the album, Snoop solidified himself as a legend, EM became the new monster to be reckoned with after that album, Xzibit was put on the map, Dre was born again showing he will always be relevant at the snap of a finger Don't disrespect this album! I can f*ck with you saying its an IMPACT classic, but to say it wasn't at all, really??stay out of ya feelings

and as far as LAD.... your fave rappers still can't emulate the blueprint biggie laid on how to make a cohesive balanced album

nuff said!

theres lots of producers that inspired just blaze & Kanye west.
i never liked scott storch.

snoop was already a legend
Eminem was already like 6x platinum. in fact, if it wasn't for SSLP, this album wouldn't have even existed.
xzibit was already on the map. and his biggest guest spot was on snoop's "bi*ch please", which was before this album.

the LAD blueprint only worked for biggie in the manner it died, because he died right before it dropped. he would've had to face a TON of criticism for this album, had he lived.

Its really hard to produce gangsta rap classics in the 20th century especially pure gangsta rap

nikkas quick to question tm101, trap muzik, the documentary or grodt

Those album's would be certified iconic type classics had they came out in the early 90's

:patrice:

so youre saying those albums are right up there with albums like the chronic, amerikkkas most wanted, ,mr scarface is back, livin' like hustlers, live & let die, music to driveby??
