do you just bounce, if so, how do you deal with that emotionally? how do you deal with the way the kid will interpret you just bouncing - we've all seen/heard folks who have issues when their pops just dumped them. do you stick around but not contribute financially? what if the woman is doing bad and your help is the difference between that kid living in squalor vs a decent life?

that is all on the woman tho, you gotta woman up in cases where you're fukking different men and end up pregnant, ALL parties, including the baby, need to know the truth.

I'd bounce. Kid is not mine nor is it my responsibility. No amount of blaming, shaming or deflecting can change my mind. If the woman has a problems with her kid, then she needs to reach out to the real father for help. That's like playing another man's saved game on GTA. Not my problem. I'm out.

this is exactly the type of reply that made me say TLR aint the place for this conversation. i don't care how you feel about the woman, 95% of people aint walking away cold turkey from a child they've spent 6 years raising.

TYRONE GA!
All jokes aside, at that point, that's his son. It's easy to pop shyt and make jokes but that's his lil man at that point. They already got an established relationship. It's fukked up that she was that trifling, but what do you do?

@dora_da_destroyer is right.

In 2017, is there any legit reason why a man wouldn’t get a DNA test at birth? You already at the hospital anyway, miss me with that trust and love shyt.

If you smart, when you messin with a broad to the point of where y’all think it’ll get to havin kids, you already puttin that bug in her ear early on about how you feel about gettin dna tests regardless of anything else

Then if she try to pull a tech, compare it with HIV testing as far as not worrying about actually havin that shyt but gettin done just to be 100% sure

Or just get snipped so you never ever have to end up in that shyt to begin with but then again that ain't for everybody but shyt...:wow:

even trying to have a child and raise it with the best of intentions can just go awry in your face as a man trying to start a family.:picard:

fukk you really have to work on staying sucker free for 2018 man.....:francis:

The woman is exactly why I'd have been in that situation in the first place. Had she been upfront I would have been able to cut my losses early. Yeah it would hurt to leave a child behind that you have an emotional bond with, but ultimately the woman is receiving the rewards by me providing the protection and stability for a child that wasn't mine in the first place. As unfortunate as it is, the child will have to learn the hard way that his mother aint shyt. By putting a man in that kind of position where his time, resources and freedom were compromised he is well within his rights to walk away scott free.

No amount of emotional blaming, shaming and deflection can change that. Women like her need to learn how to hold themselves accountable for the mistakes they make and women like yourself who defend women who like to sabotage men's finances, time and energy.

Where It’s Not Safe
hmm, TLR isn't the place for quality dialogue on this, but in this case, what do men (families) do? i mean it's one thing to get this news at 6 months, the kid isn't really old enough to be attached to you or know you, and you can more easily pull away - though you'll likely have some emotion attached - and of course haven't dumped the amount of time, money, and resources into the child. but six years of being with the kid? do you just bounce, if so, how do you deal with that emotionally? how do you deal with the way the kid will interpret you just bouncing - we've all seen/heard folks who have issues when their pops just dumped them. do you stick around but not contribute financially? what if the woman is doing bad and your help is the difference between that kid living in squalor vs a decent life?

Im out the door. At 6 it wont be too bad if I leave versus middle or highschool age. His momma can explain to him what went wrong.

Man, woman, and child
This 1000 times! In this day and age every man should be getting their child tested, especially if the mom is a club rat. Did he really think he was the first person in the club that she let smash?
Not just that but dude has access to all kinds of p*ssy if he is successful at what he does. It’s very possible there’s some other men out there who are raising kids who are his

That's the thing, to talk about it ahead of time, make it about logic and make sure y'all on the same page before getting in a possible baby/family situation.

If you spring it when she's already pregnant it will get all emotional. She'll wonder why that exact moment, argue about trust and implying she's a ho, wonder if you're hiding something yourself or just looking for a way out
And with all the hormones and physical changes she's likely to be waaayyyy more sensitive about everything anyway.
