The Rock has never been in a good movie that wasn't an ensemble cast. I don't think he's found THAT career defining role. I honestly think his wrestling career was probably his best role. He was charismatic and funny. If he could play a character like that in a movie it would be his featured role.

Movies with The Rock without a buddy/partner usually flops. Dude can't hold a movie on his own, he needs a Kevin Hart to help. Look back at all his solo films and how many of them flopped. Now look at all the films where he has to share screen time.

The Rock is the most mediocre action "star" of all time. No one has yet to dethrone Arnold as the action movie king.

Michael Jai and Statham aren't big enough stars to be action stars. I'm going to have to go with Will Smith if we are talking Stallone and Arnold which was pretty much the barometor for an action star. My top 3 of all time are

2.Wesley Snipes

But everyone knows Statham. He's legit. I mean if he's not, JCVD isn't, Dolph Lundgren isn't, Chuck Norris isn't, Mel Gibson isn't, and a slew of others who didn't make crazy box office bank for their action movies.

Which is why it's disappointing that he doesn't have a Rocky, a Terminator, a True Lies, a Die Hard...

The franchise would sell itself. Just a simple action movie franchise...minimal cgi, just guns, fists and explosions.

He's big, he can sell fight scenes, he has charisma...not really sure what his problem is.
