Both proteges of Phil Jackson
Both took jobs in the same season with no head coaching experience.
One took over a fantastic team already with good players.
One took over a bad team with mediocre players.

Kerr went into a situation where a huge amount of groundwork was already laid for him.
Fisher went into a situation that he knew was going to get worse before it ever got better.

The point being, you jagaloon, is that given the advantages that Kerr inherited, the credit bestowed upon him deserves to be taken with a certain degree of salt.
I see :jbhmm:

So why are you comparing Fisher to Kerr when the discussion is Kerr v Jackson? :ohhh:

What I'm saying is that Jackson is responsible, to a degree, for creating the building blocks that Kerr ultimately used to win last season. So I don't understand how anyone could say Jackson's fingerprints are NOWHERE on that championship team. That's ridiculous.

If Kerr continues to win for years and years, he'll prove his worth as a basketball mind in this game.

Prove me wrong then? :manny:
I don't need to prove you wrong because you are wrong. Kerr has had an incredible amount of input into this Warriors offense. Not to mention their offensive scheme isn't really like those mid-00s Phoenix teams at all - it's quite different. Only casual fans think it's the same as D'Antoni's offense and that Gentry was the orchestrator behind it.

Amazing how dudes speak on this team as if they actually know what they're talking about. Hilarious. Everyone's an expert all of a sudden. :heh:

Jackson isn't the GM

And the biggest change, outside of the offense that people are on the fence about (which they shouldn't be but for the sake of your point I'll ignore it) was the defense last year. And the most important part of that defensive shift were guys that Jackson either shytted on -Bogut- or didn't play -Green-.

Soooooooo was there more to that?:lupe:

MArk jackson was calling post ups for jermaine o'neal. The guy had no clue how to utilize their talents on offense

If Luke Walton gets a job before Mark Jackson :francis:
Mark and Lebron want him to coach the Cavs, but Blatt's success wont allow them to boot him. It's a joke what they're doing to blatt.

That's why Mark doesnt interview for jobs. He's waiting this out.

SAS is a c00n, but he is a jocksniffer first. He just plays into the theme that many players feel that coaching dont matter. He puts this opinion out there just so he can try to get buddy buddy with the players. He says this same shyt yearly.

Im not letting this c00n off the hook

If Steve Kerr is such a brilliant mind, why didn't he take his mentor's job offer in New York?

:sas2:

Derek Fisher could win a chip in 3 years and won't nobody ever call his ass a genius or a great basketball mind.

But Steve Kerr.....

:sas2:

I hope no one is calling Kerr a genius....... he took a contender and won...... job well done, but there are other coaches who could have done what he's done with that team....
