I don't think it's necessarily about "how" someone scores. Just because somebody has more ways to score points doesn't make that better than somebody being unstoppable in one fashion when it comes to scoring. You're arguing between the Dream Shake and the Shaq Attack.

Points are points.

If a team can't stop a player from getting points, they can't stop a player from getting points.

Whoever made that comparison stating Curry's shooting is like a 3 point version of the Shaq Attack is spot on. Except I wouldn't want to foul Curry, meaning there is literally nothing anybody can do about it.

I know how cats feel about highlight videos, but nobody has a highlight video like this either and it's only from this season (judging form the crowd reactions they know it's something special):

Defense was a LITTLE more physical during Jordan's era :mjlol:

imagine Curry trying to get his shot off against the Bad boy pistons and 90's knicks :heh:

Lebron said he was tired after scoring 60 points.

This is Lebron. Never been injured. Freak of an athlete. A tank of an NBA player.

And he was gassed after trying to score so many points.

I don't even gotta argue man. If it was so easy, tell the nikka to do it. Start dropping them 50 point, 60 point games back to back to back. Let's see it :manny:

Like I said before, the whole "give him more minutes" argument holds no water with me. Until I see him do it, I'm not going to put him that Jordan/Kobe category.

Jordan has more 40 point games in one season than curry has in his career.

Is curry a more efficient scorer? You might have a case better nah.I've seen mike destroy teams in multiple ways whose sole purpose was to stop him and did it in the playoffs and finals.

You really are as arrogant and condescending as advertised
So only your line of thinking is what can be called common sense, i see you. If you aren't willing to not come off like your high and mighty projected figure databases are the judge's gavel, then I'm done talking to you
Yes it is. Him averaging a few more points to meet your standard is pointless. Look at his skillset and look it how dominant he is when he's on the court. His points per shot and production is near-equal if not better than all of Kobe's and MJ's best seasons, and he's doing it against better defenses and arguably more defensive attention.

Tiny Archibald averaged 34 ppg on 26 shots in 46 minutes of play
Bob McAdoo averaged 34 ppg on 26 shots in 43 minutes of play
Allen Iverson averaged 33 ppg on 25 shots in 43 minutes of play

Is Curry not on the same level as those three players, based on your logic that he doesn't score those extra points - taking into account they shoot five to six more shots and play close to 10 extra minutes a game?

this is where you have to actually have to sit back and forget the numbers and remember the players that played.
Nah. We can not sit back and forget the numbers and remember how those players played. This is half your issue. You let nostalgia override reality.
When steph wins 7 straight scoring titles then we can discuss him being on the level of MJ. I don't care what the "stats" say. You can manipulate stats to paint whatever picture you choose.

I could bring up pace, systems, styles, etc... But it's not neccessary.
Are you of the opinion that no player in NBA history has scored on the same level at any point of their careers?

What the fukk does that have to do with anything? Shaq didn't have a 3-pt shot - does that make him any less of a dominant scorer? His midrange isn't utilzied enough? Yeah you can stop posting now.

No. Prime Kobe had streak of 4 50+ games (Curry career high is 54)..10 40 point games..averaged about 38 for a month ..62 in 3 quarters..81 etc..

Not only that but he was deadly slashing..flawless post game and couldn't be left open from deep. Not saying Steph is a one trick pony but his arsenal is nowhere near Kobe's or Mjs prime.

Let me ask you this question then - is Curry just as a dominant scorer in the time that he's on the court - as a prime MJ and prime Kobe?

What kills about the 'until he gets more minutes and averages those points' crowd is that you're acting as if he's a 4th option player who averages 8 ppg on 12 minutes against second units.

And yet Curry's points per shot and scoring per minute is better than just about every single one of Kobe's and MJ's best seasons - go figure. :heh:

I'm of the opinion that in order to be compared to michael jordan in SCORING, you need to amass a BODY of Work that is similiar to what Jordan has.

Basically this conversation is premature. If he averaged 30 for 5 more years after this season, then we can BEGIN to compare him with Jordan. in terms of scoring

Jordan has more 40pt games in single seasons then steph has in his career. Let's pump the brakes right now
