Go listen to old 50 and rethink that statement.
I guess we have different definitions as what a "step above" is....

I'm just saying, nelly wasn't a terrible lyricist though, despite the fact that he was not marketed as one.

But he's no 50 cent.

People don't like Ja cause of 50. His legacy would be a lot different if 50 never came through dissing him and then completely stealing his hit making formula.
This would make sense if Ja Rule was the only rapper 50 ever dissed

In fact, the only reason people even try to salvage Ja’s legacy is to spite 50

It’s probably already been stated but seeing as now nelly didn’t put out numerous classic mixtapes like 50, im gonna have to respectfully disagree TI. :francis:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I agree with T.I. 50 has never been a lyricist, and more so a good song writer. However, some NY nikkas refuse to acknowledge this. Yes, 50 and Nelly do have a lot of similarities.
Did Nelly have a legendary mixtape run before and after fame? 50 and Nelly are 2 different entities fam.

T.I. And Nelly are damn near best friends. This is not a diss to Nelly. He’s just saying that Nelly and 50 Cent are just as accomplished but 50 is propped up a helluva lot more just because he’s from New York. Nelly isn’t propped up at all and dissed by a lot of people for being a corny mainstream hit making rapper which is basically exactly what 50 was during his prime but people never say this about 50. He’s just pointing out the hypocrisy.

Well it’s fukking true. Outside of Nelly’s first album. That’s typically what he is and it’s no diss. 50 had the fukkin streets and mixtape game on lock. AND he had the mainstream on lock. On top of that. The nikka’s ENTIRE album was gettin burn on the radio. Not just singles. It’s a fukkin dumb ass comparison honestly.
Yeah in NY :mjlol:

:stopitslime: I got fam in the south and all these drill nikkas in Chicago like Fredo Santana and G Herbo was highly influenced by Get Rich Or Die Trying.
It was a popular Album but it's bullshyt if you think they were playing the entire album on the radio in the South or Midwest. fukk Flex or DJ Clue's show, don't constitute the U.S.
