They buying that tech shyt up like hot cakes. I work for the number 2 in this market, and some the services provided to the inmates are miles ahead of what use to be. The video visitation system is supposed to allow visitation without that long ass commute, and I do agree that it’s fukked up to go video visitation only.
A great thing about tech being sold to these prisons is it allows the inmates to stay up on news events, technology, and even watch movies nshyt. The best thing I see offered is a law library, which allows them to read all kinds of legal books and search thru a database on topics concerning their situation. It’s been shown that prisoners which have access to technology are 50 percent less likely to go back to jail.

They shouldn't be taking away visitation, but a lot of jails/prisons make it REALLY hard to set-up a meet with a lot of onerous rules and regulations. It also doesn't help that a lot of these institutions can be 100's of miles away from the incarcerated loved ones. Jpay and services like it serve as a necessary evil. Jails/Prisons should be better, but as long as Cac's treat it as a vengeance center and not a rehabilitation center, any business that helps incarcerated people communicate with the outside world is NEEDED.

Jpay/other services like it keep the inmates sane as it gives them an escape.

Anyone could simply say "Stay your ass out of jail" and you won't need to worry about visits.:yeshrug:

but once you get into prison then any opinion regarding visits you have is irrelevant and immaterial.:ehh:

and I am not trying to be an a$$hole about it but it's clear as day for us....Stay your black ass out of jail so you don't have to do a Skype Jail visit.
Easier said than done when an entire system conspires to keep u there from the 3rd grade onward...
Studies legit showing that people of darker skin tones more likely to get harsher sentences.
Poverty linked to poor legal representation.

Mass incarceration for minor offenses like weed possession which is legal in several states...and so on.

You know the history of prisons and how they got started in the US?
We the only country with jails now?

:dahell:

How guys get treated while incarcerated is one thing, and I'm with you there, but saying we don't need jails? I'm sorry, but if a drunk driver puts a kid a in a wheelchair on the way back from the club I expect him to be locked the fukk up
