I was going to write the same thing about Law. If he's never given the chance how do you know whether he can perform or not? He can make a small room shake off his wordplay alone, you don't think he can do it in a bigger setting?

Long as he raps like he did vs Magic and doesn't get stopped a lot I think he will be fine.

I think its a great idea if URL only PPVs the main events. Therefore the bulk of the content is still somewhat safe, yet people still get the instant gratification and get to see a big name. And it doesn't hurt ticket sales.

Sounds like URL might have figured out how to sew up the game.

Now if only they can repair the relationships with Bigg K, Ill Will, Arsonal, Hitman, etc. :patrice:

Hitman gotta get back to having at least 2 dope rounds per battle...until then fukk him. Nyggas love callin Lux a diva but people cant say he aint show up with dope material 2/3 battles. Make your demands make sense.

And I need to add that PPV lets these vets see if the market can really bear their price. If Lux's other half is coming from a percentage of that PPV and not Smack's pocket, that's brilliant. It basically saved battle rap.

Mook wants $100k? Let's give him a deposit and see if the market will actually pay that kind of bread for him. Same deal with all of the vets.

I said this last time, but if the URL does a live stream PPV, I don't think they should waste time strategically dropping their battles. The whole point of a PPV is to give fans the live experience. Drop all the battles the following week. Do that shyt exactly like boxing. Why waste time & views?

On the topic of PPV's, those rapgrid ppv's are corny. I think the whole "wait 24-48 hours" ppv format is corny because the event already happened. The live experience, watching it as it happens, without having no idea what is going to happen, is a big reason people buy PPV's.

I haven't thought a lot of about this, but I never did understand what the benefit of the wait is. Dropping it 5-7 days after absolutely gets more views. The 3-5 week shyt loses all the benefit of the buzz and marketing, and they have to start over with some corny ass trailer 2 days before drop day.

Business wise I can see how it works better for URL to hold battles. It allows them to be shrewed and strategic when negotiating for future battles. We got to blame the vets for their part. Who knows, if they weren't overcharging maybe Smack would have incentive to drop their shyt in a timely fashion?

On the topic of Ty Law, I would love to see his career managed similar to Steams' career. Between his home league & the URL, he gets enough battles without over saturating himself. I feel like they are taking it slow on his development, as he does not have the presence the other rookies have. He gets SM experience this year & is most likely battling DNA later this year.

Shyt Ty Law hasn't had battles at all. He should have been on traffic or something like that.

Well, I think one of the concerns is, if they are dropping all the battles a week later, why would I buy it? I can just wait.

People buy ppv's for the live experience though & they can't lose sight of that.

True statement.

DNA vs Serius Jones was a major flop in terms of views. Not just because of the bootlegs, but by the time they finally dropped it nobody really cared. Everybody wanted T-Top vs Suge by that point.

Not saying DNA vs Jones was a great battle, but it could've done twice as many views if they didn't hold it for so long. Which served no purpose at all, unless they really wanted to stick it to Jones or something

And I mean really, what better way to combat the bootlegs, then to get the content out there fast. Everybody would much rather watch the official release so why hold it

Yeah I gotta believe the ppv turnout would be good, especially if it was solely for the main event and it was like 15 dollars or some shyt. Granted that would probably be a logistical nightmare with the way battles never happen according to a time schedule. I guess they'd have to keep a very well updated twitter/social media presence to say when the ppv is about to go live.

Still would probably be hard to sell a ppv that has a set price yet the start time is "TBA". shyt would just look sketchy.

edit: Even if they did the PPV 24 hours after the battle, with sound processing and shyt done properly, it'd probably do ok.
