I think calling them dudes cornballs is extreme, but I get what he's saying though. One thing I always felt about West Coast rappers, is the gang shyt kept them on their toes. Beef could be right around the corner, or in the parking lot of the livest party in the city. If you are a somebody, you're a target. If you were a Danny Myers type "I'm a street nygga", you would get tested. The battle rappers out there don't give that feel. It just seems like they come from relatively drama free environments.
I hate to say it, but East Coast dudes shouldn't be able to come out there and be completely comfortable at the battles. At least not right away. It's like the street dudes out there aren't really fukking with battle rap yet.
Some of what I'm saying might seem ignorant, but Smack/URL is a street driven platform.

YOU nyggas have created the worst rap environment I have ever seen for battle rap. YOU had myers & danja zone looking like weirdos. Bunch of weirdos in the crowd.

What is the hardest westcoast battle rap battle?

I'm talking about battles that give you "that feel." I was watching that event (cor/hitman,math/verb). The shyt was hard. What has the westcoast done?

A bunch of corny freestyles with jokes & mix in some lyrical myrical. The shyt is garbage man.

I feel like the concept of Malcolm X vs a Klansman would've been dope if Malcolm X was dropping knowledge and rapping like Malcolm X would talk (great penmanship required) and a Klansman going from ignorant and funny (basically mocking the Klansman mentality) to smartening up. Maybe even a collaborative thing where they'd work together to make a dope performance, but of course, I'm giving these dudes too much credit.

Maybe, but we are talking about a westcoast event here. There should be no expectations of a dope battle coming out of the westcoast.

My point is, once street dudes get in the mix, that's the type of thing that naturally happens. It happened all the time during URL's first run of events in NYC. It happened at the Detroit event, and at the Chicago event. Shyt got a little crazy at the first UDUBB event. Shyt, I've seen people get pressed at some of those Poison Pen Grindtime events.
NYC battlers will fly out solo or two deep to Cali to battle, but would NEVER attend a battle event in BK solo. It just shows that the hood nyggas out there aren't fukking with Cali battle rap like that.

They are just more into the music & trying to make money. Using rap as a hustle, which I have no problem with. You gotta find that balance though.

agree with everything except the last statement

shyt is expensive to get 10 homeboys out to cali from NY, I dont think it's about bein comfortable brehn it's a money thing

hitman and verb done had multiple arguments/altercations with NY/NJ nikkas to the point you would think they arent completely safe up there and yet they still dont come to NY deep like that

you always gonna have more people with you when you at home dot mobb the only ones that move deep and that's cuz they got like 8 other battlers in the group (who are usually on the card too)

Danny goes everywhere dolo for the most part, Day only brings like 2 batmobiles and his wife, etc.
