I think calling them dudes cornballs is extreme, but I get what he's saying though. One thing I always felt about West Coast rappers, is the gang shyt kept them on their toes. Beef could be right around the corner, or in the parking lot of the livest party in the city. If you are a somebody, you're a target. If you were a Danny Myers type "I'm a street nygga", you would get tested. The battle rappers out there don't give that feel. It just seems like they come from relatively drama free environments.
I hate to say it, but East Coast dudes shouldn't be able to come out there and be completely comfortable at the battles. At least not right away. It's like the street dudes out there aren't really fukking with battle rap yet.
Some of what I'm saying might seem ignorant, but Smack/URL is a street driven platform.
