I'm no genius, but when I look at the way some of these battle rappers move I really wonder if they're mentally ill or notnikkas really just jumped out the window without knowing all the facts lol Now SMACK and them are looking at them all funny now.
They aren't mentally ill, they just have a hood mentality. A lot of nyggas with that mentality have a sense of entitlement. When people in here are really trying to apply unions to nyggas with that mentality, it makes me think your upbringing was in a completely different environment, or that you are so far removed from the hood, that you forgot what that mentality is like.
That's why I immediately just dismissed the strike talk as soon as it happened.
Cortez flat out said that him & Math would do 2 on 2's and negotiate separately, not knowing what the other made. He said it was crazy, and didn't have any reasoning as to why. However, I understood why. I'm just throwing out some random numbers. Let's just say Battle Rapper A negotiated $3500. Battle Rapper B negotiated $2000, because his logic is, we are doing this 2v2 on an upcoming league and I don't have to write as much material. He could turn around to his 2v2 partner and be like, "hey you made that much? Well I feel I should get some of that because...."
Nyggas would rather avoid all of that and just keep their negotiations quiet, because they understand that mentality. That's why Math & Cortez negotiated separately and probably talked about it months later.
Just think about a dude who went to school and got a good job. How many times have you seen family members have some sort of sense of entitlement, thinking he makes more than he really does, just because he has a good job?
