I've been out of the neighborhood for a while now and my social circle is small and diverse, so I need some help understanding something that seems to be common and accepted -- Why do so many of these grown men, 30, 35+ go so quickly to social media to air out their beef? It seems to be a foregone conclusion that if these men read/hear something that they don't like, they will go straight to the feeds with it before having that 1:1 conversation. Sug and Top both said as much on their tweets that they saw something questionable, reacted loudly, publicly, and destructively, and THEN spoke to their business partners after the fact. Is this sort of behavior unique to the music and entertainment dudes, or is it incubated and normalized at the regular nig level? I'm asking this because it seems like the general reaction to this is such that the behavior is accepted and expected, while I'm sitting over here with the at how this stuff happens and people keep it moving like it's not teenager movements.

What I find crazy about all this hitman talk is how even in battle rap the majority of fans will side with the brand over the guys that actually entertain them

I have never seen you in the TBZ man. You really responded to me on some “oh you’ll see once these guys band together,” and look how it turned out. You just look stupid typing all that bullshyt, which is why I had no desire to debate with you. It took less than 48 hours to resolve itself, like it always does. If you actually followed the culture, you would know that.
Therefore, when I say “this won’t work, nothing will come from this,” I’m not just saying it for the hell of it.

The reason why you see a lot of people in this thread appearing to side with the leagues, is because we have been watching this shyt for years, and understand what these platforms are meant for.

We know there is not that much money with battle rap, and we want leagues like URL and KOTD to stay around. What happened to all the leagues that came in, overpaying guys? They are now gone. We understand that.

The problem is with the guys that rely on battle rap and look at it as a job. These guys will always have the biggest issues. You do know that the league owners have day jobs right?

You got to figure out how to utilize this platform as a stepping stone. If this is your primary source of income, that’s a huge problem.

I have no problem with these guys negotiating what’s in their best interests. I’ve never had a problem the way Mook & Lux negotiate with these leagues.

In conclusion, stay out the main thread and take your punk ass to the casual threads when a big battle comes up.

I was for it because it sounded like some more organizing for the game was happening overall. The strike itself I was hoping it would lead to that because I was more for the unions than just that strike. However, the leagues do need to be respected in the sense of what they do for the battle rappers when it comes to pay, hotels, and other things that come with being a battle rapper. If the battle rap game is going to metaphor itself to other sports or even the music industry, I don't see why more organization cannot be involved. But these nikkas striking for like a day and being like my bad is laughable. Like c'mon man...now it just seems like there was nothing to gain from it at all and it was an impulsive reaction.

The battlers treat the leagues like shyt. Taking deposits and not showing up, missing flights and then the leagues have to purchase another ticket, coming unprepared, finessing new league owners, fighting on stage, etc.

I don't disagree with any of that at all.
But also, not every league treats the talent who shows up to their battles, doesn't choke, and acts like a professional the best either. Their locked in contracts and thats it. Partially, why I felt this would be something that could iron out some of the bullshyt.

Keep in mind, a union will check the workers who are part of it too if they fukk up. So in a sense, its in the best interest of a battler to join one but also, the union has to make sure the members follow the rules.

Battle rap is a stepping stone. That doesn’t equate to making it out, but that platform was always intended to showcase your talent, network, and fortunately collect a check. These guys have to look at creating another source of income.
