Battlers and leagues are making more than ever, but somehow battle rap is declining
That's true, good pointI mean, to be fair, that's LEGITIMATELY the way people should negotiate. It's just that theirs was more public. You don't come in with a number that's "reasonable" to you, because chances are the other party was willing to pay you more anyway. When you have leverage, you come in with a number that you're sure they're going to say no to, in hopes that they'll likely come back with a number higher than what you were willing to take in the first place. It's not about being "fair" breh, it's about getting to the bag.
I said I used to watch that shyt, I know that eventually his videos and shyt stopped and 15 minutes of fame ain't popping anymore. I was just mentioning him to kind of time stamp the convo. To me around that time was when battle rap was fire but a little after that there is decline. I mean compare that era to now, shyt aint the same. You're in here talking about Heavy Bags vlogs, so clearly you don't know what the fukk is going on in battle rap currently. Please save your opinions for the uninformed, thanks.
As far as anticipation for battles and viewership I would say yeah it is on a decline.Battlers and leagues are making more than ever, but somehow battle rap is declining
I aint gonna argue with you but look at the views of battles from the time I speak of and the views now. They may be making money but shyt ain't popping as it was before as far as viewership and the attention it draws.Nygga I wanted to get your perspective. Based on your response, you are definitely a casual fan. It was basically the response that I expected.
If battle rap was truly on this decline that you speak of, there is no way in hell the URL would be doing the volume of events they are doing. The emergence of PPV has changed everything.
Stop comparing every event to SM2. No event will ever be as big as that.
You have posted nothing but long paragraphs of nonsense.
you keep metioning viewership. Are you basing that off of YouTube? You know about PPV, right? In your era, the first time the general public saw a battle was on YouTube (if they weren't in the building). Now we have PPV and VOD. I didnt even click on Twork vs Suge when it dropped on YT because I saw it 3 times before the URL channel dropped it on YT.As far as anticipation for battles and viewership I would say yeah it is on a decline.

Also look at what you said, no event would be as big as that ever. Logically speaking that means its been on a decline ever since then and that was the peakAlso them lil events URL do don't really count. Nome and Summer Madness are the real events, all the other events they have only have a good one or two battles I want to watch.

Alright bro, I ain't know the PPV was that big. Do you know how many people bought it? Were people bootlegging them?you keep metioning viewership. Are you basing that off of YouTube? Respect fam but this just shows you’re arguing way outta your depth with people who are very much in...depth (?Alright bro, I ain't know the PPV was that big.

How many dope to classic battles do they usually have? They got a lot of whack events man. We're done man.
It's crazy we never really saw Head Ice in his prime. We never really saw Head Ice in his prime. His whole hood was already on his d!ck by the time we saw him on Lions Den. That old Rex footage is so crucial, we can SEE that the NH battle was the blueprint for small room battles.
Damn that NH battle was crazy, it was TABOO to battle face to face like this. Rex's composure was unbelievable, at least until I found out they battled somewhere uptown. My dumb ass thought they were in Philly for like the first year of watching this battle. There were legendary battlers that flat out refused to battle this way at the time. Math punched Dose because he told him beforehand that he didn't want to battle that way, and Dose still pressed up on him. WeGoHard couldn't have existed back then, cause no one was trying to embrace the performance art aspect of this thing. nikkas would be getting stomped out mid battle, Steams might have gotten steamed for all that wiggling.
But yeah, I wish Icd had some footage like this.
The greats bow to him still, but it just doesn’t sound 100% believable.
Mook doesn't even have anything like this.
I’mma just leave this here for nikkas..
I don’t believe a LOTTA nikkas, but I most definitely believe Lux.
And Lux said this when the mere mention of his name had nikkas SHOOK.
