Nah I think it's gonna be fire.

I'm expecting a T-Rex type performance from Clips and a Lux type performance from Hollow

Hollow trying to recover from the Joe Budden fiasco and Clips trying to show everybody that he's the best doing it right now.

I'm not totally ruling out the chance of it being a dud but I think more likely it could be battle of the year. One or the other i guess

I think Hollow v Clips will be dope. Clips will show out in the room, Hollow will have the replay value. We will get that serious Clips that we saw vs Rex. Hollow will be interesting and creative, regardless of whether he hits or misses. And since Clips didn't really put his foot in Top's ass, I think the "Clips is lazy" angle is still alive.

But I also thought Pac/Mayweather was good too. lol at people who thought Pac/Mayweather was going to go any different than it did.

1. Pac can't catch Mayweather. Most people knew this, but wanted to believe otherwise. Mayweather's defense & counter punching ability are just too good. People would damn near have to experience fighting someone with that level of speed & defensive skill to understand. Every sloppy white cac in my immediate vicinity thought they could somehow take Mayweather down.

2. Mayweather isn't a power puncher. Slugging it out would only give his opponent a chance. Plus he's 38. Should he risk losing, only to please a bunch of mf's who desperately want to see him lose? That would be hustling backwards.

I agree. I don't think Hollow will have a bunch of different angles like he did vs Lux, but I think he will put his best foot forward.

I get how Mayweather fights. I've been watchin dude fight for 12 years. But to say that it was a "good" and entertaining fight would be disingenuous

Mayweather dominated most of it, is that what makes it not "good"? He's a legend, and this is one of Mayweather's best performances in recent memory. If you've been watching him 12 years, then what's the issue? I'm assuming you enjoy his style of fighting enough to keep watching. Did you think Pac was capable of more?

I'm speaking from an entertaining value perspective. I understand Mayweathers style of fighting. It's like watching Wisconsin or The Spurs play hoops. They are fundamentally sound but not that exciting to watch.

And yes Pac should have done more. Are u familiar with the Arturo gatti vs Micky Ward trilogy?

It sounds like you thought the May-Pac was good because Mayweather won and you went in with the proper expectations, but from a purely entertainment standpoint I'm not sure how anyone could make the argument it was a good fight. Put it like this, if that was the undercard fight between Jason Porter and Shawn Quest you would have changed the channel. If Hollow-Clips is the battle equivalent of what we saw Saturday night I'm seeing Beasley to get my thirty back.

Exactly. :skip:
And @theflyest has still failed to show any instances where a battler(besides Chilla) has dumbed down his material in front of a big crowd.

I've already done it before. Several guys from Verb,DNA, Swave, Big T, Surf, Daylyt, etc have all talked about this.

To me this shyt is kind of stupid. If you can't tell nyggas dumb down their material to accommodate hundreds of people, that's on you.

Nygga I could make an essay & break it down & you would still be in denial. Hell no I'm not gonna do all of that. :heh:

I'm not asking you to write an essay. I simply asked you to show me some footage of a nikka dumbing down his bars for a big crowd. Prove your point. These guys say a lot of bullsh*t in interviews, yet they still go out there and rap like they've always rapped. You pointed out a bar from Clips that you consider dumbed down. I said na, Clips has always used simple bars like that. "I'm one burning building plus another burning building, that means I'm two/too fire"-That was bar from Clips in his radio battle with Myers... Sound exactly like that 2 killer/killa shyt he spit for the big crowd, right?
You then said its obvious that Magic has dumbed his bars down as well. I posted footage of recent Magic bars that shows him rapping like that same ole B Magic. Other posters here have also agreed that they don't think Magic had dumbed down his bars, he's just isn't spitting that much fire.

These guys aren't dumbing down their bars, they are just going out there with trash material.

DNA went overboard with the dumbin it downn:mjlol:

DNA is a guy that sounds better dumbed down anyway. What he thinks are "clever" punchlines usually end up sounding like reaches. He hits better on simpler stuff.

If you haven't noticed the blatant dumbing down of B-Magic's content since his Clips battle, then I don't know what to say to you. The only time B-Magic has been typical Magic since then was his DNA battle but that was a smaller venue (coincidence?).

There's a distinct difference in how Big T raps on the big stage and how he rapped Suf in that one-off and the same goes for Surf too.

If you're honestly saying that these rappers don't approach big stage battles with material tailored to the venue, then you're being naïve.
