I’m not exactly up on mainstream hip hop and haven’t been for at least a decade but I’m pretty sure Joe Budden is objectively more famous/known/popular than Jae Millz by any measure.

I agree, but I'm curious if Jae Millz views it that way. From his perspective, he was with Young Money, and surrounded by acts like Wayne, Drake, & Nicki.

He said he heard what Joe got for Total Slaughter and felt insulted.

That has nothing to do with overall music game success.

In his eyes, "Total Slaughter" was of the battle rap culture. He is upset "the culture" paid Joe Budden so much to battle.

This is all about money. From his point of view, how can joe budden get paid so much, while I can only get offered this much? It’s about money, despite the fact that joe got paid by an entirely different entity.

Therefore, that’s why I’m looking at it from a popularity perspective.

It makes me think Jae doesn’t follow the game. Guys like Joe and Cassidy didn’t get paid by leagues like url, kotd, etc. He makes me think he’s stupid if he thinks Smack was gonna pay him 100k.

That’s one thing ARP has going for him. Some of these guys have a bitterness towards Smack, so I don’t think they’ll charge him like they’ll charge a Smack.

@wizworld

I just saw the third clip. I see your point.

Yea if they did any research at all into who the money actually comes from they'd understand why dudes always cash out on those one-off leagues

They were literally saying in multiple battles how he'd write himself in their contracts and take their bread.

Him and Jaz even went through it at one time. He was doing too much.

Wack ass clips and goodz getting 3-0 each by a twitter shoutout by the god Lupe :damn:
Clips is top 5 or 10, what are you saying?

We never seen Lupe on a stage battling. I'm saying this as a Lupe fan, you need to chill.

Jae Millz represents why that black power shyt is all bullshyt and all talk. nikkas just want credit for shyt. Bunch of jealous bullshyt and power trips.
Look at it from his perspective, he one of the pioneers of this shyt. Hiphop the only place where legends don't get the proper respect and people expect Jae Millz to battle for peanuts and diet coke. With this said I wanna see Millz kill Shine on stage and upset a lot of y'all.

At the same time battle rap is one thing where it's hard to predict. It would suck if they paid Millz a big bag and he went on stage and loss horribly. Even great top-tier battlers are able to have a bad performance, choke and stumble. We haven't seen Millz battle in years and when we did the level of lyricism in battle rap was lower, simpler. Now battlers have a way higher skill set lyrically so I wonder if Millz is going to be able to hang or if he will look horrible.

I think the way they should do it is pay both battlers a flat fee and the winner gets a bonus.

This is how out of touch he is. I just clicked his most recent interview. He's clowning K-Shine for battling on the middle of the card.

We all know that most battlers PREFER not to go last. K-Shine just wasn't able to really articulate this for some reason.

I'm glad the nyggas are starting to see that battle rap isn't necessarily a "step down." That's such an old school way of thinking.

I've been saying guys like Jae Millz, JR Writer, etc would probably benefit from battling again. That one battle will bring more attention then whatever their next mixtape is at this point in time.
