Yet the movie used primarily URL talent and really played up that it was some nikka shyt, havin char as smack and Ars posted up like a goon...dude was the only white guy who got to rap forreal, the Pat Stay/Rone part was a parody of weirdo battlers (racist, choke artist, failing comedian) so it came off like a bunch of nikkas pennin race/stereotype bars all day and battle rap is a joke

The big t/benn battle in the beginning was the only one with realistic bars
This is from the perspective of Dumbfounded, it's filmed in LA. Most of the battlers were KOTD/GrindTime regulars. It wasn't really full of URL battlers. Only a couple to be honest. Ars, Hollow, Con are all grindtime/kotd's children.

No sign on that, the very first battle was URL type bars to make it seem intimidating, then you never saw it again, the next 90% of the movie was race politics/bars galore, i dont think a single convo didnt end up that way. Felt like a bait n switch tbh

I think i read somewhere that its loosely based on Kid Twist's life.

I remember reading that on here too

I don't know if it was based on his life completely but I recall that he wrote the script.
Just posing a question or two here: does it matter that someone who was part of battle rap as a battler (granted not part of the SMACK DVD era at all but more so Scribble Jam, Grind Time, KOTD) wrote this script? Would it be different if someone who didn't know shyt about battle rap wrote it and got some info. wrong?

No

I thought it was a weak script regardless and it felt like someone who was new to writing, just way too much explaining by the characters.

In battle rap terms it(the script) felt like typical DNA/clips bars, super dumbed down and every punch was telegraphed

Hennyman really said fans need to punch bloggers in the face on sight lmaoooo

Fam, that shyt got crazy, too. Jon Reel made the best points about that tho.

But this shyt had me on the floor tho.

and then this...

@Momentum was right all along? :lupe:

To a degree, I saw where @Momentum was coming from. I was never crazy into Jayblac except for a few reaction vids he did. The old ones like where O-Red battled Ms. Hustle on QOTR and he was wylin' the fukk out.
But yeah, URL got a hold of that dude. He isn't saying tho but you can tell.
