Like anything else in this world, poverty also begins as a mindset.

Don't get it wrong, a lot of people work everyday and are honest people there but when they come home they do what many people not living in subsidy do, which is indulge in entertainment rather then building themselves.
I am not looking down, my mom lived on welfare and we lived in housing but it was meant to be temporary.

For sure. Like anything else in life.

Which part of the city you originate and whereabouts now?

I am originally from Montreal, that's where I grew up. We lived in gov housing or whole time there. It's harder to move up in Quebec for multiple reasons. We relocated to Toronto so that we can have more opportunities and learned english. My mom worked her arse off so that we could love in good neighborhoods and eventually buy a home. During that time my dad divorced my mom. When we first moved to Toronto we settled in Richmond Hill, lived for a short stint in Thornhill and ,moved to Ruchmond Hill have lived here ever since (15 years plus). I have still have family friends that live in the same gov housing, to this day. My mother had a plan and she stuck to it. On top of that she didnt grow up poor/downtrodden in africa so her mindset pushed her for a better life. She always said;"How am I going to move to this country and live worse than I did back home?".

I live in York region. Good question.

Newnarket/aurora. There are pockets in the city where housing value is increasing like regent park.

Those 2 and Stouffville were the ones I had in mind, more Stouffville though.

I've always wondered about resale values. When people buy a condo they are sacrificing space for lifestyle. Part of that lifestyle is having everything brand new. New fixtures, appliances, building. Who wants to live in 500 square foot 10-15 year old place? I think the condo market takes a big dive when people who bought 10 years ago have trouble selling when they want to move up to a townhouse.

The condo game in Toronto is so oversaturated, I really don't see how someone can make money on it in 5 years unless it's something historical like Toy Factory Loft, Candy Factory Loft, Tip Top Tailor... anything else?

There are 4 new condo buildings at Leslie Sheppard... just yesterday I checked 2 of them have 50 units for sale. Cityplace is FLOODED with units for sale, straight up some of these people who are dishing out 1500-2000 for rent should buy one of them, just so when they sell it, they can break even and it's not like there money just went away to someone else's pockets.

That's true the condo game is saturated but at the same time. I figured its better for me to bud equity and possibly my condo gaining some value than sitting and wait for the hoising market to crash to be able to afford a house. My mom is a single parent. The house she lives in will be her retirement. I have to make my own way. Besides it gets me a foot in the door. But ya if i had to pick betweeen a house or a condo id pick a house.

I got my eye on Milton. But anywhere west I think is good.

I have co worker that got house near Guelph for 400k. A similar house in the gta would go for 800k (swimming pool, big back yard, quiet area etc)
Another co worker sold her house in Burlington for a mill then purchased a bigger house even more west (much cheaper) and just retired with money left over.

What's your evidence for Milton booming? I have heard that before, if I'm not mistaken, it's the fastest growing city in the country? Reasons?

East...past Oshawa is building up to
Clarington/Cobourg are gonna be next

Cobourg? Really? It's a old white town lol.

Where Fairview mall is used to be a somewhat seedy area

Then they put up one condo then a few years later there's like 7

Now rent there is high as hell

Got folks at finch and Keele thinking yay subway, just a matter of time

Saw a splashy condo at Keele and wilson the other day

I know the Fairview area well. My barber was telling me how a 3 bedroom is for like 600-650 for sale. It's nothing close to Regent and the housing complex nearby is torn down. It's far from a seedy area. It has 3 highways right beside it (DVP 404, 401), mall and right beside a subway station, walking distance. He said it's the number 1 growing condo area in Toronto right now, according to his reator.

I know like 2 cats whose families bought homes in Richmond Hill 2-3 years ago for 650-7 and now can sell for 950-1 mill. I know a cat who made 100 racks profit on a crib in Newmarket in 18 months.

I'm just tryna see which town is gonna be like that or in the process of it. There are townhouses in Stouffville for 450-550, that run for like 650 in Richmond Hill right now.

Milton does seem like it. It's majority white? The reason I don't get the hype is cause it continuously reminds me of Maplehurst lol
