Nah...Brady is a great, but he doesn't seem to be a clear front runner imo. Montana is a clear front runner imo.

There's just too much controversy over his wins...whether its cheating with Spy-gate, deflate-gate or the bad opposing calls by other teams in big games with the Seahawks and the Falcons.Just "lucky" moments where teams who were clearly going to beat them just made the worst decision possible. it seems that as time passes, people just forgot about that stuff or purposely ignore it and go by the end result.

To simply say 5>>>4 and then not to add in other factors such as his losses (yes those work against him imo) and the fact that the league is very QB friendly and the fact that Brady has never had a chance to work without Belicheck to prove that's it's him and not just the coaching are too questionable.

Montana is undefeated with 4 SBs without the controversy, plus he took a team like the 93' Chiefs to the AFC chamionship with little to no help. But what keeps Brady in the discussion IMO, is not really just the number of SBs, it's the SBs along with the number of playoff runs and the fact that he's always been a top 3 QB every year for so long, even winning league MVP just last year. That in itself is amazing and his numbers are almost untouchable.

Montana is still #1 though. There's no question to what he accomplished. Brady on the otherhand hand got "lucky" and/or was caught cheating in a few instances.

why do you consider the top 10 NFL quarterbacks of all time?

top 10 i'd have to think about...I can only give like my top 3

And for the record, I'm only go by who I watched personally starting from about 1990---not by people who I were told were great. In terms of talent...i'd go Rogers, Young and Marino as my top talented Qbs. brees and/or P.Manning might sneak in there though.

In terms of everything combined, I'd say Montana, Brady, Brees and Manning.

Brady by far. Montana played with a hof running back and hof wr, arguably the best wr of all time. Brady elevated bums making household names out of midget cacs like edleman.

I also strongly believe Montana would be swarmed in today's NFL. The rule changes don't mean anything most of those players in the 70s and 80s were just big, fat coke heads and alcoholics. You can't compare the athleticism in today's NFL, these dudes are savages. I don't believe Montana would even make the playoffs , today's athletes are just so much better

Another thing, Brady needs to be given credit for shutting down Peyton manning year after year in the afc . Peyton should have at least 4 rings but everytime he went against Brady he choked and Tom came through in the clutch. Steel sharpens steel

Montana is better but tom is really good. The nfl changing the rules extended his career longer and allowed to compete longer at a high level because you cant hit qbs no more
People underrate that and/or weren't around to see the differences. Plus add on to the fact that QBs are racking up stats because it has become very pass happy. In Montana's time, it was normal for Rbs to get 20-25 carries per game, but now they get half that, in exchange for more passes thereby adding more numbers to every category.

You can't touch them at all which changes the psychology of the position. Many of these guys are dang near 40, starting and not talking about retiring any time soon because of that. That was completely unheard of in previous decades. And if you look at stats now of passer rating/passing TDs/ and passing yards (things people usually grade Qbs by), they are completely different from the 90s.

Look at this idiot.. Montana won 2 Super Bowls before Rice even got there. And Brady has not played with bums there are hall of famers and future hall of famers like Ty Law, Vince Wilfolk, Adam V. and Moss and Beli is the greatest coach of all time.

What hof has he played with on offense? Moss was at the end of his career and washed when he got there. Brady never had a 1-2 punch like rice and Craig to hold him down, he had to make due with a revolving door of bums or players about to retire

So what Joe won 2 already a lot of qb did, he would of never sniffed 4 without rice old head.

Beli was trash before Brady fell into his lap, and he would of got exposed if he got his way and traded away Brady for a younger qb like he wanted....overrated, good coach but nothing without Brady

:russ:...you dudes are straight crazy. Moss was not at the end of his career in 2007, he was in his 9th. The dude caught 98 passes for 23 TDs that year.

Brady has had weapons to throw to as well. Never heard of Wes Welker, Rob Gronkwski, Julien Edelmen, Dante Stallworth, Danny Amendola? They were all about to retire and at the end of their careers when they were on the Pats?

The only one of Montana's that in the HOF is Jerry Rice. Roger Craig aint in there, neither is Brent Jones or John Taylor. And Gronk will make the HOF.

And the counter argument is to the "had great players" argument is that great QBs make receivers great too.

They forget Brady was a game manager his first few Super Bowls. That NE D was full of studs and playmakers. He was on the sidelines as his HOF kicker won games. He was not the Brady we see now. He had no defining play like Joe did.
