the only thing that seperates genres is the way the shyt sounds

I disagree hip hop is/was/ should be differen't then a pop, r&b, or rock artist who can just hire someone to construct a whole song for them, and all they have to do is perform it.

That why I respect hip hop artist more than any other genre. Of course if you Justin Beiber, Katy Perry, ect you can make hits after hits if other people are building your songs and writing your lyrics. But, in hip hop its the artist who has to do alot of that work.

And to me taking ghostwritten songs as your own is a form of biting, that's why traditionally true hiphop artists(not the diddy's,dre's,ect) haven't use them. But that's my opinion.

So because Twista is a solidified artist and has been in the game for more than a decade, it's ok for him to use ghostwriters? Artists like Jay-z and Nas have been rapping for 20 plus years and they have never used them (although there have been accusations). So what's Twista's excuse? If you're going to condemn one person for using a ghostwriter then you need to condemn every rap artist for using one no matter how many years they been rapping or what they have contributed to rap.

If you want to say Twista, a guy that's been around 25 years, that used ghostwriters on "3-4 songs", is the same as Drake....a guy that has been using ghostwriters for his entire career....shelved artists to facilitate his own career....been accused of stealing song concepts, lyrics, and hooks....I don't know what to tell you.

This is why I'm when people claim I'm some super duper crazy hip-hop purist. The shyt I'm saying ain't really that strict.

3-4 songs shyt was saving face, face it brehs, it's been well known Twista used ghost writers, him holding up albums, and collabs because he wont show in the studio or return calls...Not to mention back in my album buying days his track had 5-6 composers on damn near every song...The proof been there with that fruit booty Mr Tung Twista shyt, to having bars n flow all of a sudden...Back in the day Twista wasn't respected as a artist to get a diss response back from Kray and Bone, maybe they knew what yall see Nikka was nothing but a fast spitter trying to win the Guinness book of world records, yall think he was perfecting bars while doing that, nah...He saw it was money in it, and had nikkas writing his bars, when he was around do or die his whole style changed n sounded like them, when he around Kanye he sounded like Kanye n crew

What's your overall opinion on ghostwriting?

You didnt ask me, but my opinion is that as a end listener/fan of the MUSIC why would I care about anything else other than if the music is good or not.

If I dont like a song but knowing you didnt get any help won't do anything for me when Im trying to listen to music and enjoy.

If you used 30 people to come up with the lyrics, structure, etc to a song that I can't stop replaying why do I care how the sausage is made?

This is everyone's thought process in every form of music except for Hiphop purist when it comes to rap.

Drake made it cool for nikkas to have "ghostwriters". Before unless you were Puffy,Dre, Eazy e,etc had ghost writers and we accepted it because they admitted that they weren't really emcees, but now everyone suddenly coming out of the woodwork proclaiming to have had help writing and actually defending nikkas having full verses written out for them. Why hasn't one major rapper from the past or present just flat out say naw that shyt is forbidden in Hip Hop.

Whose career has Drake shelved to benefit his? I'm not familiar with song hooks and concepts he's "stolen". And I thought having ghostwriters was all around condemned in hip hop no matter how long any artist has been rapping. So if you took away the alleged claims of Drake stealing hooks and song concepts and just leave the ghostwriter claim, would that be ok? Or would he have had to be a rapper for over 20 years to get a pass to use a ghostwriter?
