It depends on who you're writing for. There's some who will flow the exact way that it's written. There's some who will take what's written and find different ways of flowing it because they might hear something that the person who wrote it doesn't in regard to the beat.

I also rap
But the absolute core of it is written. U can manipulate things once u remember the rhyme of course. But initially. U go in the exact way it's done on the reference track. After u remember it. U tweak it. I've rarely if ever seen someone get a reference track or get somethin written for them and go in COMPLETELY different than the way it was written.

I'm not saying they're going in a completely different direction. I'm talking about people who use writers, but they also have their own way of flowing. Even though the flow is written, it still caters to how they would flow it. In this case, it's more of a collaboration vs. a rapper who doesn't really have their own style and the writer is pretty much giving them a flow.

It still doesn't negate the fact that the writer writes the flow bro. Lol whether he writes to cater to the rappers style or not.

nikkaz writing hooks or a couple of bars is one thing, but full blown 16s? :camby:
Drake didn't have full blown 16's written for him if you listened to the reference tracks yet still gets destroyed :manny:
